And yes... I remember that SH-101 video... it's awful.

basically.. I don't think bedroom videos should be up for ridicule outside of youtube...

I have a number of videos with a number of negative comments on most of them (or sadder, no views at all). Whoop de doo.

TBH this was hardly for ridiculing. I just get quite the kick out of the terrible. Like that gearwire video earlier in the thread. hilarious.

Anyways, I got a kick out of the other videos posted. Thanks.

I just wish more videos were of played synths ....like with keys .
Especially when the video comes from the Devs or Legit Magazine or sales reviews .
For example all the Vermona Mono Lancet and MFB Microzwerg ( two synths I've been on the fence about ) Vids or audio demos I have seen / heard have all been sequenced house lines with usually 50 % gate . That tells me nothing about 80% of what the ENV are like , Glide , PWM ( if) and others etc.
So in other words most of them .
I have also never seen a good Buchla demo ? Just bleeps and Blops ....on a synths that cost more than any cars I have ever owned .

This one's actually kinda cool.

Heard about this guy from Charlie Clouser, of all people. There's an epic NIN megathread on Gearslutz and Charlie showed up an answered tons of questions. Really cool dude. Anyway, he mentioned that he's been on the fence about Buchla, and this guy's videos were the only ones he liked. Called the rest of the one's he'd seen "insect music".

lol just kidding. but seriously Lyonel is as nice as they come, very good at what he does. However, I bet he would sound amazing regardless what he used. He clearly has a good ear for music.

You have to remember only a small percentage of the people who buy/use/make money with a buchla have videos on youtube. It's not really an accurate way to judge a synth. I'm not crazy for the buchla sound considering its high price and think it is a bit of an 'emperors new cloths' thing, but many people have gotten amazing sounds with them. The modules sell used for pretty close to what they sell new for so if you didn't like it you would make most of your money back. They are a strong contender for best looking synth for sure though and the 222e/223e is possibly the coolest controller in the world.

I love the way they look by themselves. However, once you get everything patched up, it just looks like a damn rat's nest to me. Different strokes, I guess.
