Re: New Moog
Wow, I only thought audiophiles bitched this much about gear! They always have to find some supposed little flaw to point out to prove to other people that they are "knowledgable". c**p like: "It should have ___, and not ___", or "How dare they use polycarbonate and tin foil capacitors and not teflon and copper foil capacitors".
Perhaps the griping could at least hold off until a few of us actually have one in hand?
Then again, there is one BIG difference between audiophiles and gearhead musicians:
Musicians always want more features, and cheaper.
Audiophiles want less "stuff" on a piece of gear, and it MUST cost as much as possible!

Re: New Moog
$1,100 USD? No thanks. I'll go buy an Arturia Minibrute.

Re: New Moog
That's MSRP. Based on what Moogs retail for vs MSRP, it'll probably be more like what, $1k? Not a huuge difference, but still..ryryoftokyo wrote:$1,100 USD? No thanks. I'll go buy an Arturia Minibrute.

Re: New Moog
The profusion of knobs is pretty much the *point* of the unit and a way of addressing people's primary complaint about the Little Phatty.

Re: New Moog
The LP does not have many dials one of its charms, this moog has plenty a bit too close together to me a mini synth but a bit too mini.

And the lack of separate knobs on the LP is one of people's main *complaints* about it.
