They have a T8 there now. At $6K, I can't say it's tempting...but it sure is awesome!solaristica wrote:Do it! You could always start over again. Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6
I've thought of this many times. It's great and nothing is quite like it.
Personally, though I'm doing really well lately with my juno6 and my cp-251. Maybe get yourself a midi/cv converter to get a way to send gates to futher push the possibilities of your prophet+cp251?
Here's a video where I use the two. Sometimes I'd almost prefer a cheaper synth CV ins to a super expensive poly...

Awesome and helpful video!
The P600 has an arp input... I'll play around with this.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6
Thanks guys. I'm thinking of doing a few more things like this. Now that I have more CV gear I look at the back of every synth to see what options I have. It really opens up possibilities. I need to get some 1/8 in cables now for my minibrute to see about patching the pitch or gate out to the cv ins to see what happens then...

Yup, I got some 1/8 to 1/4" cables specifically for playing the Minibrute with my Moog gear. Tis fun!condit79 wrote:Thanks guys. I'm thinking of doing a few more things like this. Having used the P600, AX60 and JP6 extensively, my conclusion is that neither the Prophet nor the Akai come close to the Roland in terms of musicality and everyday usability.
The Jupiter is like a supersized Juno-106, as in the fact that it's one big creamy sweet-spot all the time. It is my go-to synth for everything.

See... THIS is why I'm even considering it. I was kinda hoping more folks would say otherwise... so I can stop all this buying and selling madness.Sexor wrote:Having used the P600, AX60 and JP6 extensively, my conclusion is that neither the Prophet nor the Akai come close to the Roland in terms of musicality and everyday usability.

And once you get your hands on a pristine JP-6, you wanna check out the JP-8 to see what all the fuzz is about. And drop another $4000 for that.

Screw it! I'd rather pay $8000 at Main Drag... just because their so awesome and wonderful.Bitexion wrote:And once you get your hands on a pristine JP-6, you wanna check out the JP-8 to see what all the fuzz is about. And drop another $4000 for that.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6
When they were around £1000-£1400 MAYBE but now - many for sale over £2k (not selling) so no.
And have heard so many mixed opinions about the actual sound, I think I'd like it from what I've heard but it's a big risk cash wise without being sure up front (all my other synths were gambles cos 'cheap')

Yeah, something refreshing about wiping the slate clean, plus no troubles in refinding that kit again. That said, as someone else mentioned above, why not trying pairing an S612 w/ that AX60? Surprisingly inspiring combo.solaristica wrote:Do it! You could always start over again. Yeah, It would be easy to reacquire the AX60, P600, etc down the road...walkathon wrote:[

Yeah, I had a S612 that didn't seem to work quite right that I sold here for cheap... I'm on the lookout for a cheap S900 or S700... since they should be a little more reliable.

Hold on a minute! Are mods deleting posts?
I'm sure I posted in here with a somewhat trivial pointless comment but now it's gone. Why? What is the point in deleting something like that? what are you gaining? A few lines of space?
Are only regulars allowed to join in on a joke?
What the h**l is going on with the mods here? Seriously, I like this board but sometimes I do wonder about the humour or lack of sometimes. You can't just close off people you don't like or ones that are not in your little circle.
*Awaits banning*
