Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse
I just want a 2x with a second filter, maybe another envelope, and a more complex osc section.
a little bit of basic fx (reverb + delay maybe?) would make it perfect.

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse
it likely had to do with the encoders but I seem to recall reading a few years ago that the NL3 was dropped because of RoHS compliance issues.

Doubt it since it was discontinued *three years after* it would have had to be RoHS compliant in order to be sold.

We'll see what happens. Maybe it's a bigass crossover between a Nord Wave and the electros and a Nordlead section inbetween.

Finally syncs properly to an external clock. Neat.
But you still have to sacrifice LFO1 for the arp. Seriously you guys?

Another synth that will be totally lost in the sea of 2-oscillator synths. Maybe bought by users of Nord Electros etc.

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse
If Clavia were going to bring another iteration of a Synth to market, they should have done the Modular. The beauty of any Lead product they've brought to market is lost on me. I was never really impressed with the sound of the system at its most basic levels; and I tried. NL, NL2, NL2x, NL3, Wave...
A new Nord Modular would have been 10000x more interesting...

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse
I feel like the NL synths are marketed more toward the loaded Hollywood hip hop producers who buy whatever is new and expensive.
Comparison is the thief of joy.

Re: Nord Lead 4 Coming to Musikmesse
The fact you still need to loose an LFO to have the Arp is bloody stupid. It's a shame they really can't up their game. Also at £1500 it is far too expensive.
You always want just one more Synth!
