Freaqbox Murmux
This just appeared on my radar:
Sounds pretty nice to me! I wonder how much it'll be?

According to the company's website, they're all handmade "with love" (whatever that means). So expect to pay a bundle.

$1,345 is "nice"? You can spend that same $1,345 and get an Elektron Analog Four and get a lot more synth for your money. In fact, I can think of about 20 instruments I would buy at that price before I would buy this one.maindeglorie wrote:Looks like it is priced pretty nice!

Heck, I think you can get a real modular, the Doepfer mini starter system, for about that price!

Re: Freaqbox Murmux
Yep... I do. For everything that it contains, being small batch, handmade - yeah, the price is nice.
It costs the same as just ONE of my Macbeth dual oscillators in my modular. h**l, most good eurorack cases cost almost 75% of this thing.
Also, the price to quality of sound ratio is what makes it appealing. Doepfer doesn't sound like that and the Analog Four doesn't really compare as it's a completely different type of instrument. With that logic you could throw out anything like "you could get a Moog Sub37 for that" or "you could get two Modcan modules." Haha

Really dirty and ballsy sound this has got. A 'screamer', as people used to call it.

I quite like it. I term it as "boutique" synth and are hand-made so that could explain the price somewhat.

Re: Freaqbox Murmux
Anyone every get one of these? I still would like to get one someday. I think it has a really great raw sound, makes me think of the 70s. And it looks like the price has come down a bit since I originally saw it. Perfect Circuit sells them for $1,070. I really like what Dreadbox (previously Freaqbox) is doing with their synths. I really like both the Murmux and the Erebus.
