DSI poly evolver keyboard discontinued

Post by KBD_TRACKER » Sun May 04, 2014 4:53 pm

Seen on DSI site .... the PEK is listed as discontinued:
http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/products/

End of an era ?
The Prophet 12 is seemingly replacing it as the DSI "flagship" synth.

Well, the P12 is kind of a polyevolver on steroids, so I'm not surprised they discontinue it.

I believe the PEK was discontinued almost a year ago.

you are thinking of the MEK...anyway, maybe a new product is on the way...a single voice prophet 12 maybe...

A single voice desktop version of the p12 in a similar format as the desktop evolver might be pretty bad a*s.

A very long era. It was in production for 9 years--3 times as long as the Jupiter 8. So I won't necessarily give it a moment of silence since there are plenty of them out there for those who want one. And, more importantly, I have one. :)

Me too, just got it on Friday. It's so nice to be able to play chords with some of these sounds finally!

But it's amazing the desktop Evolver is still going strong. That was the first Evolver I owned and I had a blast with it, but then of course I eventually moved up to the PEK, which I have now.

They discontinued the Poly Evolver rack a couple years ago, right? So this is not too surprising.
