Ditto. I knew about the 64 as a kid, but I didn't get one until I was about 13, after a good five years using 68k Macs - but I still love it :)

I remember spending about 4 hours working on my resume on a 68K Mac in 1986. I think it was a Mac Plus with an ImageWriter dot matrix printer that a friend had. It took about 2 hours to type it in, and gave up after another 2 hours trying to get the margins to line up... WYSIWYG my a*s!! I swore off Macs that day.

Don't have my C64 anymore, but I do have a C128 and 1584 disk drive, both in the original boxes, sitting in the corner of the synthroom. A friend left them off with me when he moved cross-country. I've yet to get more than a bit of motivation to get them up and running, so they sit.

I think this thread has just cracked the "Top 10 strangest VSE threads" of all time. We just need to bring in another two or three different topics, change the whole tone up a few more times -- we need at least one more "serious" topic here, and ideally a few people getting upset -- and this thing has a real shot at the top 3.

Beer? St. Peters, Traquair, anything Saison.

Drink as much as you need to make the music sound better.
You need more than beer to make my music sound good.

A good whiskey helps (somewhat). Ardbeg 10-Year is my go-to dram.

Almost anything sounds better after a few rounds with the Peat Monster.

Ardberg, nice mate. I enjoy me some Lagavulin or a Laphroaig.

In other news, I wonder how many topic changes and tangents this thread can take. Being party to the eventual demise of this thread, I vote we tangent back to the original topic. (minus all the vitriol)

It's a polymoog!
This looks like a psychotropic reaction. No wonder it's so popular...

I want it to be #1...

The untimely death of one of our forum members (Jabberwalky), has prompted me to make this post. You can see him on the left side of the photo below.

Image

Actually, it was the untimely death of Rik Mayall (again on left below). Ironically, someone posted a photo from "The Young Ones", earlier in this thread, before he died.

Image

Monday's death of British actor and comedian Rik Mayall happened after he suffered an "acute cardiac event" at his London home following a run, his wife said Thursday.

"He had just returned from his usual run and many people had seen him that morning," Barbara Mayall said in a prepared statement released by his agent, Kate Benson.

Benson said earlier this week that she didn't know the cause of death.

Rik Mayall, 56, one of the leading lights of Britain's alternative comedy scene in the 1980s, was best known for starring roles in hit TV series "Blackadder," "The Young Ones," "The New Statesman" and "Bottom."

Barbara Mayall said she and the extended family thanks "the thousands and thousands" of people who have sent condolence messages.

"Have you had enough Nazi, or do you want some more!"

Somehow, I don't think Rik would mind being mentioned, in the midst of a thread about a wacky song, like #Selfie..

Rik certainly knew how to rock a selfie!

I will miss you Rik! :(
