Has anyone actually had a stand up guy/place work on anything vintage in or around Central Illinois? I'd travel to St. Louis, Indy or Chicago if it was worth the trip instead of mailing. I'm needing my P5 looked at, and beside sending to Greg @ Analog Synth Services, my options are slim. To me sending an old board thousands of miles to have repaired is counter productive if it gets roughed up in the process.
Maybe it hasn't been mentioned yet because he moved, but Steve at what was Electronic Musicians Services in Chicago, is now based at A Sound Education in Brookfield. He's worked on multiple "big" synths for me and is the only one I would trust to do that kind of work in the Chicagoland area. Reasonably rates and pretty fast turnaround.
