Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
No love for re-issues. My vote is for companies to bring out new improvements in model lines that have gone dead:
Yamaha: SY77, SY99, next SY121?
Roland JX3p, JX8, JX10, next JX20?
etc.
Anybody here have a few hundreds of million dollars* that you would use to buy the remains of Ensoniq from where ever they are scattered?? SQ90, ASR20, (as said) Fizmo2?
* note: I read somewhere , long ago that Creative labs paid $6,000,000 for Ensonic.

I'm gonna go waaaaay out there and say I would love a modern reissue of the Atari ST.
Also, MPC1000. I think the market could really benefit from a current-production hardware sampler that doesn't need to be tied to a computer and isn't octatrack expensive.

Yamaha CS80 in an enclosure made from aluminium, with memories, and without fakewood.

Andromeda, Ion, Z1.
Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
Yamaha EX5 (and EX5R) with a modern powerful cpu to provide more polyphony with AN, VL and FDSP voices.
Also all remaining firmware bugs should be fixed and SCSI should be replaced with as USB socket for memory sticks and a SD card slot (not microSD, those are far to fiddly!).

Montage covers for those.rhino wrote:

Re: Reissues you'd like to see...
Not really, the Montage doesn't allow using FM and AWM as part of the same Voice, only as part of the same Performance. For this reason is doesn't allow you to do what you could do with RCM on the SY77/99.vladimotor wrote:Montage covers for those.rhino wrote:

And this thread is about reissues, not about vaguely similar successors.

Meh, a new D-50 would probably cost way more than the 1989 one used, and there are plenty to go around still.

Already done (If you have a V-synth). The VC-1 card turns the V-synth into a virtual D-50.edfunction wrote:a boutique d50 would be great!

I've never owned a pure white synth with pretty lights everywhere since.

Hey mate! Long time no see. How are you doing?edfunction wrote:d50 without the keyboard in the boutique size/format/price is what i'd go for
The keyboardless D50 already exists, although just slightly bigger and pricier than the Boutiques... As Black Tomorrow mentioned above, the V-Synth with VC1 does it; but especially the V-Synth XT that has the VC cards integrated already, and no keyboard. I am absolutely sure that you would love that synth for its sampler even without the D50 on top
