Re: Full sized Korg Arp Odyssey
Since it's 14% larger, shouldn't it only be 14% more expensive?

Ha, 14% indeed. Lined up my MS20 (3 oct FS) with my KARP the other day. It's only 1 1/2 inches wider. More to the point, will it have a proper MIDI out and not that ground loop inducing USB link?

Too expensive. Almost twice the price of the slim keys version. For this money I'd rather take Moog Sub 37 and have a sequencer, lots of modulation and memory.

I agree with you.Rokk wrote:Too expensive. Almost twice the price of the slim keys version. For this money I'd rather take Moog Sub 37 and have a sequencer, lots of modulation and memory.
I have the module, paid 550 euros, the LFO repeat triggering issue has been solved and I can control the pitch via midi with the pitch bend of my master keyboard, if someone doesn't like minikyes and wants the Odyssey sound I think that the module is the way to go...

Desktop modules are the way to go IMO. If you have an 88 key controller, there should be plenty of space on your desk

Even dumber is you can select MIDI channels for the MIDI IN, but the bidirectional USB MIDI is locked on channel 1.
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

CV/Gate/Trig ins/outs are still 1/8" minijacks for talking to euro

Re: Full sized Korg Arp Odyssey
At $1,600, I better like the feel of the keys. The MS-20 full-size kit keys weren't the best.
Otherwise, I'm saving the $1,000 and going with the module and triggering it with my DX7.

Re: Full sized Korg Arp Odyssey
Way too expensive for a mono synth, no matter the pedigree. Why the need to double the price only to increase the size 20%?

Some more infos...it looks like it will be assembled in the USA and it's a limited edition, I've read in another forum that only 150 unit will be "reserved" to the USA, maybe that's why it's so expensiveBitexion wrote:Way too expensive for a mono synth, no matter the pedigree. Other than that, maybe it´s Decoy Pricing? There´s the mini version, the desktop version and now the full size version. A, B and C. Re: Full sized Korg Arp Odyssey
It's still considerably cheaper than a maintained vintage Odyssey and it's got MIDI. Surprised nobody's mentioned that.HalloweenJack wrote: It looks like it'll be expensive though...
