Regarding the "lost" Operation:Daybreak soundtrack... I thought it was too good to go unreleased so, I have attempted to rerecord all the cues as closely as I can - Please take into account that the original music that I worked from was lifted from the DVD release and I had to break down all the parts, trying to ignore the hiss, tank engines, gun shots, explosions and Nicola Pagett's screaming

I'm still waiting for replies from the original publishers (Sony/Warner Chappell/Dukes Lodge) in order to give this soundtrack the release I believe it deserves, but so far have come up against a brick wall so, sadly, the project currently remains on hold as a work in progress.

The cues were recorded with the following:

The New Scooby Doo Mysteries (1984)
Super Mario Bros. Super Show (1989) composed by Shuki Levy
Duck Tales (1985)
And tons of other 80's cartoons and animated films.
I wonder what synths they used? Also, on The Lion King, Beauty & The Beast, and other Disney 80's and 90's films.

Any idea what synths were used on Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer? It sounds like it may have been either a Fairlight or Emulator and possibly a DX7.

Also what were all the synths used on the Runaway Train soundtrack?
From reading this thread I've deduced
Prophet 5
Yamaha DX7
Synclavier ii
and possibly Fairlight?

Dave Lawson used the following setup on the Runaway Train soundtrack: Prophet 5 rev 2, Yamaha DX-5, Synclavier II (mono sampling), Emulator II and a Linn 9000.
The other synthesist Brian Gascoigne probably used a Fairlight but I'm not sure what else, although in this studio photo from 1985 you can see that he
additionally had a Prophet 5 rev 3, PPG wave 2.3, DX-7 and an Oberheim matrix 12:

The synth setup for "Henry: portrait of a serial killer" was pretty basic: Roland Juno 106, Korg Polysix and Ensoniq mirage sampler.

Funny I posted asking about Nightflyers 1987 back on the second page over 10 years ago. Went to look and see if they had any clips on youtube now and noticed they are just getting around to doing a remake or sequel series 30 years later to it:

I believe they used the Synclavier a lot on VAMP but I don't know what else. Besides Elias himself, there were five synthesists playing on the score.

I have always heard about the soundtrack that Vangelis composed to a French wildlife / nature documentary in the late 70s or early 80s but never been able to find a recording or copy to listen to :/

Does anyone have any info or files that are relative to this? It was really lovely stuff apparently, I would love to hear it!

The Italian film composer/arranger/keyboardist/organist Carlo Maria Cordio played the synths and keys on the horror-scores to "Eaten Alive" (1980) and "Cannibal Ferox" (1981), both
of which were composed by Roberto Donati. A lot of the music from the first film was reused in Ferox.

The synths and keys used included Minimoog, Polymoog, mellotron, Logan and Solina string ensemble. Besides the aforementioned scores and his own work, for example the excellent soundtrack to Rosso Sangue aka Absurd (1981), Cordio was Stelvio Cipriani's keyboard/synth-player for about 10 years from the latter half of the '70s onwards (lots of film scores and library albums) - some exceptions where Cordio was not available are "Solamente nero" (1978, which featured Claudio Simonetti on synths) and "Nightmare City" (1980, most likely featuring Sandro Centofanti).

Cordio also also played on soundtracks by Riz Ortolani (he might have played on Cannibal Holocaust but he wasn't totally sure about that), Nico Fidenco (eg Zombi Holocaust, he often worked with Fidenco), Francesco De Masi (eg "Lone Wolf McQuade") the great Ennio Morricone, Armando Trovaioli, Nino Rota, Carlo Savina and others.

Any idea what Cordio used on his later soundtracks like Aenigma, Touch Of Death, Shocking Dark or Zombi 5? Sounds like he added a DMX or Linn Drum to his set up and switched to more digital synths and samplers.
