Patch Bay or Two LFOs? (enthusiastic n00b)

Postby mopnomore » Mon Jun 11, 2018 5:30 am

Hello there,

ive been a musician for about 12 years and have gotten into synths and midi after years on an MPC, in the last two.

i started with the roland boutique modules. i have a ju-06 and the jp-08.

im immediately in love with synthesizers and trying to understand them.

im also trying to upgrade heavily.

I guess more so than recommendations im looking for explanations of what this stuff actually does. (for guitar players, i use a ZVEX instant junky...constantly, so two LFOs is very appealing. but the patch bay is more interesting.)

i like having two envelopes with the jp-08 a lot.

before i was a musician i was a gamer who hung out on forums. so i thought id join one and enjoy some convo instead of digging into google, but a great link to great info is a great link to great info.

What are common functions of patching? two VCFs=two synths? pretty sure i totally understand two LFOs.

thanks for any replies yodiggity.

Looking at the Kilpatrick Audio PHENOL Patchable Analog Synthesizer and it appears, to my n00bish eyes, to be two synths in one with patching capabilities. but i dont know; such be the question.

it is a two-oscillator semi-modular. There are others available, for considerably lower prices.
