My ALESIS QS 8.2 (Silver) seems to be DRUNK

Post by StonyLix » Wed Apr 17, 2019 3:54 am

When I play the Keyboard... 90% of the time it de-tunes and sounds awful. It sounds like a Drunk Piano.
I will open it up and give it a proper cleaning... Perhaps replace the caps near the heat sink. I would like to replace the LCD to a dark background and bright Font... All the keys work, the velocity works as well. But the pitch warbles or will bend down a few steps and return... The Pitch and Mod wheels feel smooth and work fine - it seems... But the thing sounds intoxicated...

Any help would be awesome.
Thank you
- Tony

I had something similar recently, turned out to be the pitch wheel in need of attention. A squirt of contact cleaner into the pot, a good wiggle and stability resumed.
