No more "Classic" view?

Post by Z » Wed Apr 17, 2019 4:03 pm

I don't see how to change the look to "classic" view. Let me know, otherwise I have no reason to visit anymore - this place has died off since FB got popular.

Also, this updated look doesn't show what group each post is in.

There's always issues when a forum interface changes. The main thing we hope to get out of this is more control over spam.

I'm still seeing the subforum for each post...in fact it's in the image you posted. Did I misunderstand what you were complaining about?
I listened to Hatfield and the North at Rainbow. They were very wonderful and they made my heart a prisoner.

Hi - I am sorry, we had no choice - our forum platform was really very outdated and the spammers were taking advantage of this. Our poor moderators were getting really fed-up, as they had to deal with hundreds of spam posts a week. The old platform could not offer us the spam fighting measures we needed. The only way to fix this was to update our forum platform to its latest version. Unfortunately that meant that we couldn't keep the old look. :(

As for not showing the groups that each post is in... I am a bit confused about this. As far as I can see, the image you posted is showing all the groups. I have highlighted them in this picture.

OK, I see the sub-topics now. They're just not as apparent and bold as before.

Well, it's been fun. See y'all on FB!

No. FB is way too cumbersome to find posts older than 2 days ago. VSE helps learning a lot more, and there is a lot less trolling here!

A bit dramatic? It is hard to see what's stickied, but who cares. I'm glad to see the forum is being updated and kept current.

FB was a dumpster fire even before it was a toy for foreign intelligence services.

Though yes, it would be nice to get the old theme back.

Oh yes, Let's hope it can (at least partly) return to its old glory ;).

I don't care too much about the theme, "classic view" etc., btw. I am being active in several forums, and each one looks different. Some have also undergone upgrades or changes to their visual appearance, so what :dontknow: ? Just get used to it, and it'll be familiar in no time.
Don't forget to TURN ON THE SYNTHESIZER. Often this is the reason why you get no sound out of it. - ARP 2600 manual, 1971

Damn Z, stick around. You’ve given great advice here and all of the senior members here are valued, even if this community is not very active.

I'm still around. How do you quote previous posts in this new format? Sorry, I'm old and don't like change.

There is a menu button as three dots at the top of a post. Quote is in there.

Didn't see the menu button, but did see the quote marks.

Who cares if the visual aesthetic is different if in the end one doesn't have to wade through thread after thread of Chinese bots shilling boner pills and London relastate.
