Here is a solution for the Chroma Polaris membrane problem,....Assuming that all the switches work and the problem is only at the bend in the ribbons....Cut the broken section,remove some of the "green mask" with solvent only to expose the silvery contact line...and install a "Elastomeric strips" ....available from Zebra / Fujipoly or Z-axis connectors...Add any type of finger connector you like to attach to the main printed circuit board....I've repaired very expensive medical equipment with same kind of problem where keypad was no longer available.....Works perfectly.
You can find these strips in many DVM (multimeter), LCD equipment...etc...
