What synth was used for the bass-line in Madonna's "Lucky Star?"

Long time ago. It always sounded like a Moog to me. Maybe a Minimoog? I do remember seeing concert footage a year or two later and they were using a Moog Source for synth bass.

The album credits Fred Zarr and Dean Gant as the synth players. Moog is mentioned under Fred Zarr, including Moog bass, so a Minimoog is a good possibility.

Ive read somewhere that moog source was used on lucky star.

They used Minimoog for all the synth bass on Madonna's first album. They used a Moog Source live only because it has patch memory which is more feasible in live situations.

Which synth is this?

It's a MIDI-layered Yamaha DX7 and Minimoog. She worked with producer Patrick Leonard on that album and that's one of his trademarks.

It's a ARP 2500, not a mini moog that you hear on both "Lucky Star" and "Borderline". I know this because I have the multi tracks.

Wasn't it a 2600 for the bass? And Prophet-5 for other synths..?
