Thanks for all the quick response's people.....

I went ahead and bought the board anyways today, and so-far I'm enjoying what it has to offer.
I'd still like to know if there's any "Known" mechanical flaws these are prone to suffering, and some of your personal opinions on the Keyboard.

I * had* a QS 6 recently... and sold it for slightly more than i paid. Okay effects, decent but limited sounds, and good luck getting expansion cards....

Well I definitely fell in love with this Keyboard quick. The smooth pads, and distorted SFX have won me over. :)
You'll see this used in some upcoming pieces I am working on for sure.
Matched up with the Alesis ION, Its incredible what this combination sounds like.

It reminds me allot of Haujobb's sound.
Video for reference:

Maybe help if you googled a bit more on the QS7.1, for a start

what's your point? are you saying VSE's not a good recourse for information on instruments??
I was directly asking VSE for opinions. This page had 22 views with no responses, and took three days before someone thought to chime in. "I do appreciate your comment Ashe37"
thought my Heading was clear enough ASAP!!. I was picking one up the following day, and wanted some insight. Instead I got a bunch of lurkers..

maybe next time I'll take your advice, and skip VSE all together for help.
seems it did nothing anyways, but direct me to another "more helpful" forum.

Calm down. IF no one here owns an Alesis QS7.1, then you won't get a reply, often other member's point (links) to other places for reviews by other users who own that board. New posts on VSE can go without days before a reply as well. I owned an QS6 at one point, i don't think they are that great a synth tbh. Most members on VSE own either an Andromeda, Ion or the Micron.

I love quadrasynths. Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em. All those Mellotron samples just make me melt. I love the Rhodes sounds as well. Everything about them is just perfect in my mind. Does the QS7.1 have resonant filters? The Quadrasynth doesn't and that's the only thing I would want to add to it.

I'll look into it.
I'm still learning what all this synth can do :)

Mine didn't come with a manual...and the one on the Alesis site is a corrupt file. So I'm having to use the QS plus manual. That's a pain but I can live with it. But definitely no resonant filters. It's a shame, but a hindrance I can learn to live with.

After a bit of research, none of the QuadraSynth series had any resonant filters.

Shame really. Nevermind, I guess that gives me reason to buy another synth

You can always get a Fusion, it has nice resonant filters, including an ARP-2600 emulation.
And you have more than just samples :P

IMO the QS series never realised their potential. The Fusion, on the other hand, is fantastic. Huge sonic scope, great sound quality, and excellent aftertouch.
