Thanks for the suggestion. Tried changing outlets, but the monitors still buzz. I think I'm going to pick up an Alesis Powertrip and see how that works....

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I've connected the monitors with TRS cable, and the buzz has definitely been cut in half. Now, here's where it gets dodgy-- they're still buzzing, and this is a buzz that persists whether or not I have any cables plugged into the monitors at all. I would be tempted to ...

As an RM1x owner I think you probably did the right thing; when I look at my machine and a picture of the 505, all I notice is how much better organized and simpler that thing looks. I picked up the RM1x early on, and it was pretty difficult to learn on-- don't get me wrong, it has some awesome feat...

I'd say that for $25 just about any functioning pro-level synth is worth it. And if it's a 61M and includes midi, you'll be able to enjoy it even without some of the membranes.

Now, this is highly subjective, but I nominate.... http://cachepe.samedaymusic.com/media/quality,85/brand,sameday/fit,330by330/p44949h-17d1c6cdd5ad9c94fb665ea5d0d59751.jpg the Behringer FX100!! I defy anyone to find a pedal that offers a wider range of ridiculous/bizarre sounds for under $30. As lon...

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a used synth of that age in such good condition-- particularly one being offered at a yard sale, and-- judging by the guitar strap-- one that's been actively played and maybe gigged

When the Behringer Truth monitors came out I remember people saying they were one of Behringer's better products, so some of that may have transferred to the MS40's... The important thing when buying monitors is to listen to them in the store, with a cd you know really well, and just compare. In the...

I was lucky enough to see them open for Peaches last year, and it was an incredible show. A friend saw them play a performance where, instead of using a lightbulb suspended in the can, Quintron actually lit the inside on fire....

Photovoltaic Synth/Sequencer

Hi all, I can't imagine that this hasn't been mentioned already somewhere on the forum, but I checked and couldn't find anything. Just wanted to point out that the famous Drum Buddy was briefly back in production this winter and Quintron is auctioning one off. Awesome piece of gear, photovoltaic sen...

Powered monitor question - patch vs. speaker cable

Hi! I have a trusty pair of Event TR-5 powered monitors that I've been using for a long time. Ever since I moved into my new space, in an old building in NYC, I haven't been able to use them-- they've been very, very buzzy. At first I thought this was due to questionable ancient electrics in my buil...
