Re: Mixing Headphones

Aah you're right! I didn't read it properly lol, I only saw the price for the full edition. Well that sounds pretty good then, I've ordered the headphones, they should be with me on Wednesday. I'll download the 21 day trial and see how it goes, Thanks again Tomas ;)

Kind Regards

Re: Mixing Headphones

Just had a quick look at Sonorworks, it looks great but its a bit expensive for me at the moment. However I did buy Waves NX a few weeks ago but I haven't tried it out yet. It'll be interesting to hear what its like with these Audio Technica M20X's, I'm gonna order them now ;) Thanks Tomas. Kind Reg...

Re: Mixing Headphones

Thanks very much for that info Tomas. Wow those Audio Technica M20X really are cheap! I think at that price I'm just gonna go ahead and order some, and based on your recommendation, as its mixing I specifically want these for. I don't care about sound leaking out as its more for when I can't ...

Mixing Headphones

Hi all, I don't know if I'm allowed to ask this question here as its regarding headphones and not synths? (Although it is about recording synths and electronic equipment). I know headphones are not best to mix on but on those occasions when you have no choice, what models would you recommend? I curr...

Re: Yamaha Reface CS, Korg Microkorg, JD-Xi and JU-06a vintage sound shopping!

I have the Prologue 16 and absolutely love it. It has a proper analogue synth user interface with real knobs and switches like the classic analogue synths of the past. It sounds absolutely fantastic used just as an analogue, but it also has a digital section if you want to dig deeper and this really...

Emax 1 Spares/Repair

Hello,

Does anyone have or know anyone who may have an Emax 1 for spares or repair? I'm looking for just the outer case for the original (without the HD or SE graphics on the front panel) many thanks.

Regards

Re: I must be too stupid for MIDI.....

That e-mu box looks really interesting! I found a used one for less than 100 bucks. I like the simplicity.
I have one myself, bought it real cheap secondhand. Its small and neat, its super simple and quick to use if you just want to do a bit of piano playing! ;)

Kind Regards

Re: I must be too stupid for MIDI.....

Just a thought, you could always get a little hardware piano module such as this: http://www.muzines.co.uk/articles/e-mu-systems-proformance-1/448 You can pick these up second hand very cheap now. You'd still need a way to record it but this is probably the easiest and quickest way to play piano sou...

Re: ZIP 250P Zip drive

Thanks, Yes that's what I was actually supposed to be doing. I have a load of Emax Zip disks but only a few of them are 250s so I bought a zip 250 off eBay that was listed as SCSI but when it arrived I realised it wasn't hence why I asked about an adapter. Regards Dave I've literally got backups of...

Re: ZIP 250P Zip drive

it won't work the other way. OP, it would likely be cheaper to find a scsi one, or a scsi to parallel converter (the opposite of what was posted) Thanks, Yes that's what I was actually supposed to be doing. I have a load of Emax Zip disks but only a few of them are 250s so I bought a zip 250 off eB...

ZIP 250P Zip drive

Hi all,

Does anyone know if a ZIP250P drive can be converted to a SCSI with an adapter so that it can be used with an Emax II? I have a few ZIP250 disks with Emax banks on but the Zip drive I have is only parallel?

Many thanks

Re: Can you help me ID this synth?

I would check out the Emax library for the INXS stuff, at least one of those Asian instruments is in there. I'm pretty sure they used a bit of Emax on that album, on the intro to 'Beautiful Girl' the piano with the duff note is definitely in my Emax library! ;)

IMHO the only real reason to step sequence drums (which is how most drum machines work) is that you simply can't play the parts in real time using keys or pads. I.e. you have no natural rhythm
Hmm.. is that so? maybe I should sequence my guitar then too
