Re: Question about the sp202

The SP202 uses 5V SmartMedia cards which haven't been manufactured for about 20 years now. Used ones are $$$$$.

Re: Any Roland D110 users out there? Tips needed :)

There is some information on the oddities of how the D110 responds to the sustain pedal in this archived article. The D110 has a time/level style of programming the EG, rather than the ADSR style. There are five times and four levels, the last being the sustain level, the last time (T5) is the relea...

Re: Roland 303 Can I change the preset patterns?

OK, he wants a sampler . It could be either computer based or standalone hardware. The biggest question is whether or not he wants to create a playable instrument where the basic sound is stretched across the full keyboard or have many samples spread across the keys, one on each key. At this point, ...

Re: Deepmind 12 issue on setting a favourite sounds

I answered this for someone a while ago, can't seem to locate the thread via search.

EDIT: This is the old thread about DM12 patch memory

The procedure in Section 4.5 of the manual is correct. What part is not working for you?

Re: Ensoniq eps classic "error 18"

When Ensoniq was still in business, if anything happened to one of the boards, it had to be replaced in it's entirety. Most likely the "new" board was one that had been repaired and refurbished at the factory. They did not support component level repairs at service centers, probably having figured o...

Re: Roland JX-8P keys noise

What's happening is simply that the waveform is at some non-zero level when the amp opens up. Some people talk about wanting "punchy" envelopes, but the quicker the amp opens and closes, the more clicking will occur. Just get used to tweaking attack and release by ear to control clicking. I had to d...

Re: Roland JX-8P keys noise

Set the attack and release of the envelopes to non-zero values...does the clicking go away? The JX8P is not known for super-fast envelopes, but clicking as the amp opens or closes very quickly is common to all analog synths. The fact that the click is reduced as you lower the DCO levels suggests tha...

Re: Roland 303 Can I change the preset patterns?

I'm still confused about what he wants to do because of the words you are using. A pattern is a sequence of notes. In other words, a brief musical composition. As I wrote, each of the Roland units can store 50 of these created by the user and the rest are presets that cannot be changed or removed. A...

Re: Moog Taurus I - notes don't terminate

Since you have the schematics, locate the connections between the envelope generator and the VCA and see if the control voltages are being properly generated.

The answer was given in this post above. Download Compact to your iPhone and see for yourself if a license for Reason Lite shows up in your Reasonstudios (formerly Propellerheads) account.

Re: Roland 303 Can I change the preset patterns?

You mentioned patterns . A pattern contains sequences (notes for the song) as well as the programmed sounds (instruments) for each track. Are you asking about having more space to store sequences/songs that he has composed? The MC-303 is often criticized for having far more factory patterns (120) th...

Re: Sonic Cell MIDI to ESQ-1 remembering pgm assigns

Describe "remember". Each sequencer track has a page for setting the program changes, which are limited to a single bank of 128 patches. If you are trying to choose patches across different banks, that's not supported...period. Does the Sonic Cell have a user patch bank? If so, load 128 favorites th...
