Re: How did you first develop your interest in synthesizers?
I was 11 and my friend had a Jean Michel Jarre tape which he'd play over and over. When we did sleep overs we'd darken the room and play Oxygene and Equinox. It fired up my imagination and I've been a synth lover ever since!

VA synth with wavetables?
Hey guys, It's been quite a while since I've been on VSE and I'm looking at getting back at making synth music soon! I've been reading up on all sorts of synths new and older, and came to the conclusion I would want a VA synth with wavetables added. The Novation Peak stands out as a very good option...

Can't hook up Impulse 49 to FL Studio?
Hey guys,
just bought an Impulse 49 to hook up with my computer, installed the Windows driver and Automap, yet can't get it to play FL Studio instruments. This should be a very easy setup to du, just plug and play, yet doesn't work?

Re: Starting over from scratch - need some advice!
Anyone have advice on what kind of laptop I could be getting? Somebody should answer you... Shooting from the hip, I'd say to get the best you can afford (€450 won't buy the best there is) so that it will be able to handle reasonably recent software. As to what you should get in terms of internals ...

Starting over from scratch - need some advice!
Hey guys, It's been years since I sold all my equipment, and the itch to start over grows by the day! I'm on a limited budget => 450€ to be exact. What I'm thinking about is going completely computer based, with a laptop, DAW and some synth(s) and a controller. Luckily, being a bass player, I've alr...

recommend me a good laptop!
Hey guys, It’s been long years since I sold off everything for financial reasons and now I’m getting back some stuff to start making electronic music again. I used to is Mac, Logic and Reaktor. But I only have about 1000 euro’s to spend on a new set up for now. The big chunk obviously would be purch...

Theme for great cities, Jupiter 4?
Hi there, I gather you all know Theme for great cities by the Simple Minds? Well, it is said that the pad played throughout the song comes from a Jupiter 4, and I think it still is one of the best 'haunting' pads I have yet heard. If one were to have around 500 euros to spend on a synth that would c...

Re: Blofeld or Micron? (Not really a VS thread.....)
I used to own both the Virus and the Ion, but they are no more.
I was able to produce real good pads with the Virus aswell, but its oscillators lacked a good degree of 'belly', something the Ion had tons of for its price.

Re: Blofeld or Micron? (Not really a VS thread.....)
Fair enough, but only the Oscillators and filters are of interet to me, and if they can sound similar enough on a Blofeld when compared to a Ion/Micron.

Blofeld or Micron? (Not really a VS thread.....)
Hello guys, As of yet I'm taking up the idea of getting me a budget synth which in most part will have to score good on 'pads' and some synth weirdness. I used an Ion and a Virus C, both for their own capabilities. As generally known the Virus' oscillators lack in power, and the Ion's far better in ...

Logic Studio or Ableton Live Suite?
I've been using Logic Studio at a friend's and it's so good that I'm thinking of getting it myself. But there are some things that it lacks, like the Session View in Ableton, which I only read about and never used, but reviews on the net praise its ease of use. Another thing is Time Warping, availab...

Re: Any Alchemy users around?
I've checked two online stores in Belgium (Europe) for Alchemy but they don't have it... Ebay neither. Can you order it from Camel Audio website only?

Re: Any Alchemy users around?
The VA's on Reaktor are verry good and along with the power to completely mangle samples it is totally what I'm looking for. But Alchemy can mangle aswell and from what I've heard it's far out. But I haven't heard the VA section really, and even on You Tube the demo's don't really go into the VA sec...
