Re: Gnarly tube preamps/Recording friendly amps
if you are just looking to ad grit to a synth i would highly reccomend the tech21 sansamp classic, for a cleaner sound i have very good luck with the sansamp acoustic. i used to have 2 presonus tube pres and while i liked them for recording percussion, i never found them to do anything impressive fo...

Re: An interface with decent inputs
are you possibly hearing the outputs of synth into the interface & the recording software at the same time? if so, then you may just be hearing the two signals out of phase due to the latency of the interface, software, ect.. if this is the case, turn the direct signal off when recording and only li...

Re: Best Synth Programming Interface Ever?
the synth with the interface i find the best is the nordlead 2. i like how easy it is to switch betwen multiple programs & layers in real time while playing. i also like that it has no internal effects so i can do things such as run each of the four outputs into multiple delays with differnt rates. ...

Re: The great official thread of the Prophet-5
i sold my prophet5 four years ago and i really wish that i had not. nothing comes even remotely close. a friend of mine bought a dsi p-8 and to be honest, my nordlead 2 can get alot closer to the sound of a prophet5

Re: E-BOW
for me the main appeal of the ebow is that i find subtle bending of notes to be both more controlable and more expressive than a synth pitch bend wheel/knob. you are actually moving the thing that is vibrating, not moving a lever with a spring that is set to modulate pitch. both are good for what th...

Re: E-BOW
try putting the guitar thru a dod buzzbox then into a danelectro frenchtoast. roll the guitars volume back a bit and turn up your amp so it starts to feedback. your guitar will start to vibrate like it's alive. dist plus oct down into shitty oct up fuzz with feed back is great as is , but once you t...

Re: E-BOW
i think my ebow cost around $90 eleven years ago. one fun thing to do is run the guitar thru an octave pedal, short analog delay, chorus, then a looping pedal. make several passses of overdubs so you can play a chord part but use different amounts of vibrato for each pass. it sounds so huge.

no, i have never used an EII. is there a prophet 3000 you are considering, or are you simply trying to find the machine that makes the sound you hear in your head?

Re: Any Prophet 3000 sampler users here?
i borrowed one i was considering purchasing from a music store about 6 years ago. it sounded f**k amazing, but not much memory. i spent 2 afternoons sampling an atari 2600 and had a ton of fun. downside was when i went back to the store and said how much i liked it the price went from $600 up to $80...

Re: Today's Best Value
i had a jx-10 a couple years ago and would definately recomend picking one up for $300. just be aware that the envelopes are a bit slow.in my opinion i found it i much better for slow evoling pads and string type sounds than solo type sounds. i luckily had the programmer, pick one up it is so much e...
