Re: Akai S2000 weirdness
late but with a clarification request: is that original disk, or did you make it yourself? Because older akais were very picky about both the media (you couldn't use DD as HD and vice versa) and the format (on linux you literally need to DD the image to disk).

Re: Akai S2000 weirdness
I assume this happens with OS disk inserted?
Because if it's a sequence of three head clicks, then a second of silence, and two clicks - this is not a proper OS disk.
The weirdness is normal, because the S2000 polls the drive every 4 secs in search of OS disk when it doesn't find the other/SCSI media.

Re: Korg Wavestation WS1
Anyway - great keyed, but as I said, the one in my Wavestation feels very different (quite lumpy and chunky, even from day 1) I believe that's because of different weights and thus more rigid "springboards" for the keys. My WS was pretty banged-up when I got it second hand, so I literally cleaned, ...

Re: Korg Wavestation WS1
It's a Fatar unit, but I forget which one offhand. You can google it for the model, but it was used in the DX7S/II, the Wavestation, and other keyboards of that class around that time... Are you sure? These keybeds are marked as Yamaha FS-61 and, according to my information, were done by Yamaha in-...

Because none of those reached end-of-life. They're not "vintage" per literal definition.

Re: How can I produce this Minimoog special sound effect?
e-guitar sound generator --> Overdrive module --> Flanger module --> Stereo processor You're overcomplicating things in the long run: you don't need any "e-guitar sound generator", you just need a nice sound, that you put through overdrive insertion effect to sound like a convincing fuzz guitar - o...

Re: Some newbie questions
1. If I have a controller with both USB and standard midi ports, can I use both simultaneously or does one output cut the other? That solely depends on controller (you haven't told us what you have). 2. If I have a CV out that is 10V and I patch it to a CV in that wants 5V will I fry the receiving ...

So... Korg Wavestate is out of the bag... reactions?
Honestly, I'm a bit underwhelmed - I still see myself buying it, but doesn't it all seems like it's more of a repackaged KARMA than a Wavesequence 2.0? Of course, I reserve myself a final opinion once I get my hands on it.

I listened and besides some tonewheel organ, I don't hear any synth here.

Here's mine after resurrection. Not pictured: Deepmind 12 and slightly abused (by previous owner) KX88, currently looking for permanent location.
