Re: Casio CZ-5000 sequencer tapes convert to MIDI files?
I thought I would have a go at this with AI coding help, but the problem is there is no document of what SysEx parameters relate to what sequencer parameters. It would be laborious, with an actual CZ-5000, to say, input one note on one track at a specific tempo, dump that file, and reverse engineer ...

Re: Yamaha RX11 Repair Thread
Yes it is, if you have a compatible EPROM reader/ writer so you can rip the ROM from an RX-11 to replace the wave ROM in an RX-11L. But I guess that you will both have to replace the wave rom and the firmware rom? (Wave offset is coded into the firmware rom, correct?) Yes good point. Although I gue...

Re: Roland Juno 6 no DCO waveforms
Most technicians would advise against shotgun replacing chips before properly testing that it is actually broken. It's a lot of work to desolder and replace a multipin IC, and without proper soldering technique it's easy to cause further damage. Even if you don't have a logic analyzer you can check ...

Re: Casio FZ1
Oh right. Dunno how I missed that. So there is the same problem with the XLR mic input on the back?
Re: Casio FZ1
If it's a good price, and FZ10M is nice to have. I would much prefer it to the FZ-1. The XLR on the back is a line output, not a mic input. It's a TRS jack input for the mic on the front panel. Looking at the schematic, it is electronically balanced. So three questions for you to answer: 1. Are you ...

Re: DX5 Aftertouch Strip
I've looked into this a bit because I have the same problem with a 76 note Akai MX-1000. What you have there is a resistive strip. Exposed carbon. Corrodes over time. You can try very gently cleaning it with isopropyl, very carefully, to remove the top layer of oxide. But it will oxidise again after...

Low ESR. Same temp as the original. Brand does not matter, since the EU fined the capacitor cartel.

Reading it again, it says the number is silk-screened on the PSU board as well. So you're good

Re: ESQ-m sounds garbled when first turned on
I'm not even sure how to tell, since it neither gives schematics nor part numbers for those boards in that manual (unless I missed it, and I've been over it a few times). You did miss it :) . It's on page 14. Tells you the numbers written on the transformer for each version. These are a pain to fix...

Re: ESQ-m sounds garbled when first turned on
The service manual I have looks a bit different, but it's mostly a layout thing. Here's what I've got: https://i.imgur.com/OUYMiwR.png That's because there are three different versions of the PSU A B and C. https://www.vintagesynthparts.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/esq-1-esq-m-service-manual.pdf ...
