Re: Lazy Programmer or New Synths?
Ahhhh....Writer's Block. It's a b***h when that happens. When it happens to me I always look to buying new gear for inspiration. This is not a wise thing to do. When the inspiration comes back, you'll regret letting go of the old gear. Yes, new gear can spark inspiration, but maybe you just need to ...

Re: korg dss1 ever had one?
The DSS-1 is one of Korg's best synths. Really warm and phat. It sounds so good that back in the day I had two and I still miss 'em.

IMHO, I think you should grab it. SH-2's don't seem to go below $600 anymore. The really decent one's seem to come from Japan nowadays and they're going for around $800 without the $200 shipping cost. But why should he grab it just because it's cheaper if its not even what he's really looking for? ...

Buy me two tickets (one for me and one for the CS 40M) and have the equivalent $$$ for a LP and I'll bring it to you... Heck, I'd even include the SK 10 and you would be well on the way to a Yamaha synth museum. Hmmm, maybe I should drive instead - now that's a scary thought. Always wanted to...

I have a CS 40M which I bought for $300 about two years ago. It was in a climate controlled closet (for the art works stored) of a local art gallery and hadn't been used since I don't know when. (It still isn't being used, but since I now have a Voyager, I wonder if there's a way to hook both of th...

I think that what will be look at as classics are what people don't like right now. The stuff that is classic now was mostly sold cheap a few years after they came out. Hmm.. Not too sure about that. Most of the gear that's classic now was pretty expensive back 20+ years ago. The cLassic Rolands, O...

ALthough I have aquired other synths with external ins over the years, the only synth I ever processed external sounds with is my Roland SH-2. I used to run drum sounds from my 808 through its filter or create additional percussion or bass. Second that on the SH-2. The RS-09 chorus is great as well...

This is a tough one. If it wasn't a Andromeda, i would say trade it for the the Rolands in a heartbeat. I've owned the SH-2 and the RS-09 and have extensively played the Juno 106. I haven't had the chance to play the SH-3a, but I would imagine it sounds pretty close to my old SH-09. So here's the de...
