Looks like we've just bought a house! Interesting the previous owner happens have a large collection of music gear so the property has been kitted out with lots of storage. However might still be a good time to cut back a bit. I've watched a few videos in the meantime and I agree that the RE...

That doesn't suprise me to be honest and I suspect it'll be similar here in the UK. However it's been difficult to determine a concrete value since I can't find many that have sold recently.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I have some monosynths that I may be willing to part with to generate a bit of extra funds, but wanted to give an idea of what polysynths I'd still have access to. Also I have the programmers for both the JXs and it seems that they can go for around £1000 after lo...

Hiya folks, been absolutely ages since I've been on here. Hope everyone has been keeping safe and well during this difficult time. So currently a lot of my gear is in storage since moving to a smaller property but we are planning on buying our first house in the near future. As a result I have been ...

What flexibility and expandability do you mean? A Mac Pro is worth it if you're planning on using a UAD card or a PCI express soundcard but if you're using a 003 then you're much better off with an imac. The top spec ones these days are really powerful, even my 18 month old one is powerful enough t...

i've had a G5 tower on craigslist asking $600 & can't find a taker. I'd rather avoid the old Power PC architecture since I don't believe everything is continuing to support it. Besides I am only permitted to use the money for items sold through appropriate retailers and I doubt many will stock refu...

I was under the impression the ZED series was more for recording use. You're probably thinking of the Zed R16 , which has firewire and is indeed suited to recording. The Zed 24 only offers stereo recording via USB and sports 24 channels, 16 of which have microphone pre-amps. The 16:2 Mix Wizard doe...

are you using the PA for a live performance scenario? if so, cut down on the price of that, take it back & don't risk windows 7... it'll be a mistake. Yeah, I intend to use the PA for live performances - although I may use the tops for band rehearsals as vocal monitors as well. Just to give you mor...

Congrats! Is this grant for personal use, or some sort of non profity thing? Thanks! It's for both non-profit and profit, least that's the plan. I'm hoping to be working alongside schools and if that becomes a reality then I won't be charging. With any luck I'll be using it for a voluntary project ...

A couple of months ago I applied for a grant for some equipment and much to my surprise have been successful. Since then I've put together of a list of the stuff I intend to use the money for. It will be used primarily for four things: A new computer Near-field monitors PA system and live gear Bass ...

That must have been what irked me about the ION when I had it. Even with the filter fully open it still doesn't have the high-end sizzle that the Mini has in spades.

Why blame Numark? It just seems that shortly after Numark acquired Alesis they stopped both developing new synths and supporting their current releases. In fact now that they the own Akai too they've just rehashed the Micron/ION engine for the Miniak. With the Micron still in production would a rac...

I'm pretty sure the LP's LFO is digitally-generated. It is then brought into the analogue domain so it can interact with the signal path. This is probably one of the reasons the range is rather generous.

That blows. I blame Numark.
