Are those the Proteus strings at the beginning? If it's a PPG preset(what's it called?)for the bass - do you think I could get something similar from Waldorf's software VST's? Thanks.

Hi, anyone have an idea what the bass stab sound coming in at about 41 seconds could of come from? 808 State had loads of keyboards including a PPG and a Microwave which is what I suspect the sound may of come from. Maybe it's a few synths layered? FM? Any one? Thanks.

Buy an Akai MPC. It's got that swing and you can throw in any samples (drum machine or otherwise) you want.

Only much much later did I realise.

Doh...........still no UI in Ableton (XP, Live 5). The sound is still niiicccccccccce though.

Ableton Live 9 is due soon (hence the 9) - so how about it being some controller/sofware/workstation combo made with Ableton as it's heart/foundation. Ableton is renouned for it's audio manipulation/timestretching capabilities - hence "Kronos". Or am I just talking and thinking bollocks??!!
