Cv doesn't support multiple midi channels. Your midi->cv converter might, how are you converting midi to cv?

If i recall correctly the output board is attached via cable to the motherboard. You may want to pop the lid and try reseating the cable in case it came loose during the fall.

Had an E4k with the same issue, I ran calibration and fixed it right up. I'll be the first to admit I know nothing about the k2xxx series but before you go digging into the hardware you might check to see if there is a calibration menu option available for the alpha wheel. i'm not sure about clock stability either. I think it only works as master and it does seem to lose clock and causes some pops. Anyone else experience this? When it works it sounds much better than the analog outs. I never had that problem with clock stability on mine. I will say the Q sounds fanta...

It's been more than 20 years since I've had a split-8 but I had an problem similar to yours caused by a grounding issue.

Afaik, the Audioframe 1000 (it was called the WaveFrame in the early days) wasn't released to the market until 1987 or 1988 even. The company had a working prototype out by october 1986 though.
