Re: Modern Arp Odyssey equivalent?

^^^that's gotta be the strangest VA substitute I've ever heard of^^^^ an OB-12 sounds like an Oddy? To me it sounds like a gritty digital synth with not enough power in the DSP to sound even remotely like a classic VCO analog, but hey - whatever works for ye! I couldn't tell the difference between ...

Re: Modern Arp Odyssey equivalent?

Thanks for the replies. I persevered with oddity this evening. I still find it a bit tricky to use but I put up some youtube videos of the Odyssey and tried to match sounds. At first I could not get that nice harsh ringing sound that the hardware produces but after a couple of hours fiddling around ...

Modern Arp Odyssey equivalent?

I really like the Arp Odyssey but cant' afford the second hand price tag. I've tried the Oddity emulation but... not so sure - anybody else compared it to the real thing?

Is there a modern synth that can get near the sound of the Odyssey?
Thanks.

What to replace my SY85 with - Juno Di?

I thought I'd try on this board:

I am thinking of buying something like the Juno-Di, mainly as it integrates well with the computer...but...
what about the sounds and effects (especially reverb) will a modern cheaper synth like this sound as good?

Re: What to replace my SY85 with - Juno Di?

Hiya. 1) What type of music are you making? 2) What are you currently finding lacking in the SY85? Thanks for the reply: 1) Electronic/Prog rock. 2) Nothing in particular although it does not excel in the 'leads' department. I was wondering how something like the Juno Di would compare as it would b...

Re: How do I assign knobs on a midi keyboard to a DSI Mopho?

Thanks, I'll check out some pdf's on various controllers. Once I set up the controller to work the software parameters I then need to try and save any tweaks when recording as midi gata into Cubase. The only problem is that the Mopho software does not plug into Cubase so I am trying to work a way ar...

How do I assign knobs on a midi keyboard to a DSI Mopho?

I want to get a new midi controller keyboard with knobs and sliders to control A DSI Mopho. The Mopho has 4 assignable knobs with 4 fixed parameter knobs but I would like more control. I am thinking about something like the Novation or M-Audio controllers, so that I can assign the many knobs/sliders...

Re: Nord Lead versus Alesis Micron?

How would you describe the different charaters - it would help to know what others think. Like Joey said, Nords are characterized by a very bright, edgy sound (which I would describe as "buzzy" or "brittle", but that's just my own prejudice showing itself)--great for cutting through a mix, but subt...
