Re: LOGIC 8 Mastering
Yo thanks for the tips! (and sorry I didn't see the Sound Production at first glance) Yeah sorry goldpinga, I actually do know what mastering is, I should have thought twice about making that thread title. Speaking of mono, is it possible to convert a stereo audio file to mono in Logic's Samp...

Formant Filters and Pad Textures
Hey, I'm just seeking a Free formant filter plug-in (Mac compatible), anyone have any links? I found a nice one for PC, but I can't use it anymore, I think it was called Vox-Synth or something. Does anybody make their own formants by using self-created band pass filters? I've basically been looking ...

LOGIC 8 Mastering
Hey everyone! On the topic of mastering and cleaning up a mix - It is a good idea to convert bass and sub-bass frequencies to monophonic, right? (That is, if they're already stereo) Well I was wondering how you could do that in Logic 8. Problem: In a bass track, for example I want all frequencies be...

Re: FL Sytrus, how unique!
Yeah, basses are great. Especially 303 stuff, I still think it's just the way the filters shape the oscs.

FL Sytrus, how unique!
Does anyone else here agree with me that this synth sounds phat!? Since I have a mac, I can't use it. But I was wondering, what makes it sound the way it does? It seems to have a really warm chunky edge to it (especially the sawtooths). My guess is its filters, Imageline added some pretty radi...

FM Synthesis
Hey, Does anyone know of any good FM-synthesis tutorials around? I understand the basic FM concept, however I'd like to be more specific in knowing how to model certain instrument sounds (e.g. flute). At the moment I'm just finding it a little unpredictable and I'd like some illumination on creating...

Re: Logic 8 Control Surfaces
Well it's generally all ok now. I figured out that Logic saves all the controls I've "learned" automatically. At the moment I'm just looking for empty templates to start with, instead of modifying them.

Logic 8 Control Surfaces
Hey, Can somebody please help me understand how to integrate the Novation X-Station with Logic 8 as a control surface? So far I can assign basic CC values to pots and sliders. But how do I save the controller settings to use them again? Should I save them through Logic, or somehow write/modify a tem...

Just as an FYI, Sustain, when asking advice on a hardware sampler, the last sub-forum in which to ask would likely be SOFTWARE. There are both a BUYER'S GUIDE and SAMPLER sub-forum, each of which would seem more apropos. Fortunately, this thread headed towards software; thus, here it shall remain. ...

What's up with operator pitch though? I mean you can't clearly see the pitch increments; semitones; cents etc. ...because it's a FM synth? Oh yeah I noticed the proper pitch entry now. Anybody know of any hardware synths with such wave shaping options? I know of the Ion, but I doubt it is as flexib...

Well, Blue's pretty flexible and impressive. It looks like I have a lot to learn! Still, I prefer something current to use which doesn't give off random demo noises. I'm using FL Sytrus more often now, and just record it through Wave/Stereo Mix (It can't save patch presets; demo). My god that ...
