Thanks guys, Disaster Area's answered my question, and for clarification, I meant having one bass pattern for the verse and one for the chorus, but each pattern is only monophonic.

I figured it'd work this way, but I wasn't all that sure, and just wanted clarification.

My advice would be to take a few lessons, and buy a book like The Idiot's Guide to Music Theory, or Music Theory for Dummies. I've got the Idiot's guide, and it's opened my eyes to how to write chord progressions, using inversions and extensions, and 've got to say, I have loads of fun just stuffing...

It changes the filter cutoff frequency very quickly, using an osc instead of an LFO. It's like a really fast LFO on the filter. and one last thing, get Welsh's synthesizer cookbook, it's a real gem at showing you how to get some pretty stock patches that you can then use to create your own things, plus it has REALLY handy filter and tuning percentage tables, which are just beyond useful....

Try to imitate sounds you hear, not just acoustic sounds, try to imitate the lead sound of a song you like or a pad, hoover sound, noise, drone, etc, but try hard, in the inbetweens you'll learn more and more.
