Re: Akai AX-60 Minor Restoration Advice
I had some of the same problems. the covers over the led lights were sunk in, they cum unglued over time. I fixed this with a little bit of JB weld. they keys. I've had this problem before with the prophet 600 and the akai ax-60 and guess what. they both have the same kind of keyboard (pretty much)....

Re: Simmons SDS 9 too hot.
http://tablist.net/wrekkstylz/wp-content/uploads/SDS9%20Radiator.jpg I guess the heat is not really a problem, but it bothered me, so i took off the little circuit board where the heat sink is, stripped off all the old goop with stripper spray, put some new thermal paste on. this really didn't make...

Simmons SDS 9 too hot.
I don't know if this is normal, but my simmons sds 9 gets really hot from the back. it's like touching a lightbulb that's been on for a while. it does cool down pretty fast, and it doesn't see to be affecting the functioning it. any ideas? the only thing I can think of is that it might be that therm...

on the prophet 600...
is there any real difference between 1/2 and Off on the Keyboard switch?
also, on mine, pulse width for both oscillators only seems to have a range from about 1-8, is that normal? I figured it must be just the way it works because it does it on both.

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
I once saw someone selling a JX-8P for $700 U.S. and that's just for the synth, not with the PG-8000 or anything fancy. I emailed the seller and told him to die! He didn't take my advice but it still felt pretty good to do that. Another thing I'm tired of is people selling the WAV cd. Sometimes you'...

Re: Beats by DRE Headphones - I'm looking for a review
Well you gotta understand dr. dre is a business man and monster is a company that sells over priced s**t that you don't really need. The end result is going to be compact visually aesthetic toy with a lot of hype behind it. I've never tried these headphones and I never will and I'll tell you why: 1....

Trying to decide between a prophet 600 and a jx-8p
I'm having some trouble on making up my mind on which synth to buy. I think I might like a prophet-600 but most of the videos I've seen seem to showcase it as more of a bubbling effects, noise maker kinda synth, and any of the good sounds I've heard come out of the prophet 600 seem to have that "ele...

Re: LinnDrum or Yamaha RX5?
If I could afford it I'd probably go with a linndrum but as a second best I'd go with an sequential drumtracks or oberheim DX or DMX instead of the yamaha and as another possibility if i could afford a linndrum i might just go with a drumtracks and DMX and have 2 drum machines instead of one. i've s...

Recommendations for a DCB to MIDI converter
What's a good DCB to MIDI converter?
I'd like one that would allow me to use MIDI in and MIDI out for the Juno-60

Re: 80s synth music addiction!
I always wonder what synths were used in all sorts of things, from songs, to educational videos, to fake commercials for tv shows like the one in this saved by the bell episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCx-Cd2xBuM Is there any hope for me? or am I destined to spend the rest of my life listeni...
