yah I have V4 and I think it rocks. Sounds quality has improved, matched with Logic 8 its a really nice working environment. Thor is really nice too, considering how little CPU it uses. I have always used it a lot and then worked on the sound in logic to make it sound better, but it needs less tweak...

I can usually find a use for Logics synths in any track I write...they are all really decent, especially for finding a particular sound real quick

Apple Logic Pro 7 (legal but it was given to me for free by someone who got it and never installed it/used it) and I purchased Cycling 74 Max/MSP/Jitter because it is just too awesome. It hurt to pay that much for software BUT at least I got a student discount... :)

have you looked at the Korg PadKontrol? I've heard only great things about it from people who use it as both an audio and video controller--- i am waiting for the AKAI MPK49-- its a really nice looking keyboard midi controller with akai mpc style drum pads...check it out on akaiprofessional.com
