so I just get some of this stuff, open the synth up, and spray it on the circuit boards? I don't understand.Mr Knesh wrote: Get some good de-oxit and clean the h**l out of your stuff regularly.

is smoking in a room bad for the output of a synth
I know it's bad for the general electronics of a synth but has anyone here noticed it affecting the actual sound? I got this dx7s a few months ago and remember it being real clean sounding, now there are occasionally certain artifacts during attack phases and a more noticeable line noise. I would li...

Re: d-50 midi communication error
OK! Emailed the guy that I bought it from and he helped me in getting it to work. Turns out it was a key combination.. "You will need to hold down the data transfer button while hitting the bulk dump or bulk load and enter. Hold the data transfer button down while pressing the other buttons down or ...

Re: d-50 midi communication error
sounds like a transmit speed issue. Try something like Bome's sendsx, it will go painfully slow but will get everything "... now unless it's trying to dump data straight away (automatically) then I shouldn't be that? I know some apps send SYSEX as they are run (i.e the 'clever' scrolling messages o...

d-50 midi communication error
I was trying to send some fresh patches to my d50 today. As soon as I would turn on a sysex app it would say midi communication error. I tinkered with everything... changing midi channels, exclusive on and off, tried different protocols, etc etc. It would say "waiting" but as soon as I opened up the...

getting rid of dw8000 noise
The dw seems to have a lot of excess noise, I can also sometimes hear very silent notes when I haven't even pressed any keys. Is there a solution to this?

Re: Tired of my d550
Yeah i am lazy. Im just use to my dw 8000 which is super easy to program. I wish the d550 was grimier but I can just take care of that with some processing. Ive created beautiful ambient patches on it but it just feels too pristine at times. Not going to sell it but how do i get the damn after touch...

Tired of my d550
I bought it and a pg 1000 a couple of months ago and have not put it to any good. I don't know if its the rack-mount feel or the programming feel (maybe im just lazy) but I want to replace it with something of equal quality that has a keyboard and is more fun and intuitive to use. Does anyone have a...

d-550 programmng tips
Ive had my d-550 for almost three months and i got the pg-1000 about a month and a half ago. Ive been tweaking the sliders but I cant grasp any inspiration from it besides the the awareness that it has some untapped power. So for any of you who use a d-50 or d-550, do you have any tips? ( i don't us...

Ok. Just got the battery, and im about to go into operation. It looks like the d-550 doesn't allow the patches to be saved to tape, and im not really versed in any other method. Since I just got this thing and the battery was too low to save from the beginning I haven't edited any of the sounds eithe...
