What's one synth/gear piece you own that if you came home and it was stolen/damaged beyond recognition, you'd go out immediately and buy again? And..and what's the one piece if lost/damaged, you wouldn't be too broken up about it? Wow another year old post I totally missed that I have an opinion on...

Best you can hope for until someone starts doing retrofits for big profit is use a Midi/CV converter for pitch and pedal CV inputs.

Funny, I never noticed this thread when it was active. I bought a floor model Karp Oddy at GC and it's black-orange, so I'll go with the color scheme of the one I own. I did used to own a Jupiter 8 though, so maybe that's why I find it satisfactory. Also the talk about full size keys made me want to...

I also "inadvertently" helped out the vintage synth market by fixing and spiffing up a vintage synth, and putting it back out there on the market! Similar thing here as well. Bought mine in early 2000 in really great condition with a brand new j-wire keyboard fitted. Filter stopped self-oscillating...

I've seen a few Digital VCO modules for Eurorack, including using the CV for wavetable sweeps. Typically these are generated fully in software, but have a ADC used as an input interface to accept a CV signal at a sufficiently high sampling rate, in the range of that modular's standard. I suspect the...

it doesn't affect the classic status of your synthesizer - as in - the Pro1 is regarded as one of the best monophonic synths ever made. I wouldn't rely on reputation or status(-ugh-) alone, except for the perpetually in demand ones, like the Juno 60. I mentioned it before, but the biggest problem w...

I have no advice for a selling price(I sold mine in 2008 for $400 to a happy Canadian musician) but wanted to advise you on shipping. This synth was rather cheaply made and if it is not packed well, it can suffer grave damage during the trip. My own had its circuit board sink out of the phono jack h...

I mentioned on social media that in the video, I noticed right off that the D does not sound vintage in a rather obvious way. Think of this as sounding more harsh and flat, with less emphasis on the fundamental frequency. Also easily noticed the self-oscillating resonance on the D is modulated by th...

Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone has had any experience with the Parva yet. Video demos have trickled out over the past two years and I am still liking what I hear, although I would like to hear alot more. I am mostly liking the character it exhibits, with a separate DCO clock per voice, 16...

Just to throw my hat in the ring, you would benefit from finding out ahead of time who makes the 1394 interface in your laptop, and ask the support team or find an FAQ to verify the audio interface you want is supported. I found out by pure chance that my MotU 828 mkII firewire was supported by a Cl...

I agree, the OP's clipping comes off as a bit cavalier just to make a few basic points. If you want to really take time and learn about the process of recording and mixing, I recommend reading through the very lengthy cockos forum post "Why do your recordings sound like @ss?" . Lots of valuable insi...

No question it will sell. I was thinking more in line with Steve Jones' comment about longevity. Also if it's made as only some weak facsimile of the high-end option with not much unique to offer and little chance of resale value, where it's easy and cheap to churn out tens of thousands of the next ...

I've owned exactly one piece of equipment by Behringer. It was a little four or five-channel mixer, and it sounded like total a*s and clipped out in a junky digital way if you so much as looked at it funny. I don't see myself buying anything else from them any time soon, even if it is cheaper. I bo...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but mine is that there is bound to be a multitude of stomp box effects you could insert and get good results. Phasers, filters, Chorus, Flanger, EQ, compressors, loopers, noise gates, ringmod, sustain, resonator...I once had a BBE Acoustic Sonic Stomp permanent...
