budget
Budget is around $500, but I can go up to $750 for the right board.
I do need a keyboard, so no rackmounts. I'll probably be doing fuzzy noise, Aphex Twin / Olivia Tremor Control stuff.
The missus wants to learn to play the piano, so MIDI hook up is essential.

Well... If you have any interest in next-gen trackers, the obvious package to try is Buzz... It's what I used to use when I wrote tracks with software. Cool, but PC only, and I've got a Mac.
