The thing is "empty" on power up. Not a sausage. However, I have a Flashbank fitted in mine into which I have the (revised) Steinway/Bosen a. piano. So power up, boot, change storage device to Flash, Load Piano, which as the Instrument is in Flash memory there's zero load time

I am surprised at this. I have now fitted 2 Gotek to Ensoniq EPS16+ sampler and think they are wonderful. As far as the 16+ is concerned it thinks there is a real floppy drive still in. I can now do all my file manipulations on a PC. I would think the Yam is no different. My Goteks came with OS v3.3...
