Do you guys think it is more important to get the monitors before getting the hardware/software. Of course!!! Reference Monitors will help you hearing exactly what you are producing in the Pc/Mac. Any monitor will not do because they modify "colour" the frecuencies( f.e. because of the construction...

I use a zed 428, I mean of course the recorder will do no magic, i just want to do things the best way I can! Therefore I am asking people who deal with this professionaly or just as a hobby, but knowing exactly what they are doing. I am becoming a sound tecnician, but after years I am still a nooby...

Maybe the yamaha hs80´s? they are ok, and you could get them as a pair out there!

CErtainly, but my teacher told me something like that I would loose the headroom/power gained from the mixing desk by the time i go back to cubase :? In that case i should use some mastering Plug-in... My idea is to record a master, ready to be copied to cd, in this case exported as 24-bit linear pcm

Well, thank you both but none of your methods seems to work for me...I was thinking of something like the tascam hd-r1 maybe still an dat/dtrs recorder, something that has got a really nice quality but without going out of the price range like the hs-2000

High! To that issue of the interface, converter: It all depends on what you want to do & the amount of money you want/can spend on it... I dont think that dealing with a neeve mixer is the way to go for a home studio, they need maintenance and calibration after some time... but if you can make it yo...
