Re: Has anything said on this forum influenced a synth?
When I told them the number one thing on the list was being able to move from playback to record without stopping the sequencer, they said "Hmm, yes we could do that, but why? Is it important?" Wow so I pretty much have you to thank for that...Good job man, that's pretty much the greatest thing abo...

Re: John Carpenter appreciation thread
This thread is pure gold, thanks Micke! Whatever happened to JC, why doesn't he do features anymore? Granted the last one I saw was Vampires which was pretty sucky, and I stayed away from Ghosts of Mars for that reason, but is he fully retired from feature films now? (not counting those masters of h...

Re: What keyboard is in this video
 No hard feelings, I hear someone refer to something as post modern and I go off the rails a little. Can't help it, I'm an electronic musician, I like to push buttons. :cussing: :la: And I can get stuff out of my casios that my analogs can only dream of, vice versa too of course. It's all useful.

Re: What keyboard is in this video
Why does using a casio or something similar have to be labeled "post modern", "ironic" or some other wankery. I'll use any device that makes sound for precisely that reason, it makes a friggin sound , ahh my criteria was just met. And yes you can do anything with creative signal processing, isn't th...

Re: The synthesisers used on Kanye Wests new album
I wonder if kanye even knows who Mantronix is. I'd say he would, the first time I heard west was a white label of beats he'd written, a little while before that first album of his came out. Some of the beats were actually pretty good, 80's NY style similar to mantronix production ala T la rock and ...

Re: Synth in "Relax" by Frankie goes to Hollywood?
Wow I never realised what went into this recording, £70,000 worth of studio time and the only thing actually coming from FGTH is Johnson's vocals  From wiki- "Horn dominated the recording of "Relax (Don't Do It)" in his effort for perfectionism. The band were overawed and intimidated by Horn'...

Re: Synth in "Relax" by Frankie goes to Hollywood?
I recall reading somewhere (probably here) that the "BOW BOW BOOOWWW" part was a digital synth, a PPG Wave IIRC. The regular bassline sounds digital too, maybe DX7 or Synclavier. Yeah I should've made myself clear, the "BOW BOW BOOOOWWWW" part is what i'm really interested in, thanks for vocalising...

Synth in "Relax" by Frankie goes to Hollywood?
I tried searching for this figuring someone would've asked before but couldn't find anything specific about this song. It always sounded like a JP8 to me and that's still my guess, but it's been years since i got the chance to play on one of those things and I don't remember the filter sounding that...

Re: How many Andromedas have been produced thus far?
Ok, going by the numbers you found it would appear the long thin barcode on the back of mine would be the serial #. Why they would just stick an ugly barcode on there instead of actually stamping the serial# somewhere is beyond me though... Mines is (21)A10704045700675 As to what the system is your ...

Re: How many Andromedas have been produced thus far?
If I were pissing in the wind I would inevitably get drenched in my own piss...that is not what is happening here, no wind pisser be I! Don't piss in the wind my friend, it will only end in tears. It could be put forth that I am waving my d**k in the wind however. FWIW I got mine second hand earlier...

=P~ Yeah I've seen that one before as well, best A6 mod evar! someone posted that on gearslutz awhile back, wish I had the time and talent to do that to mine...the woodwork I could handle, just wouldn't be too confident fooling around in the guts of the poly. Mine's at least getting some nice wooden...
