ARP 2600 throwdown
I've recently gotten my ARP 2600 back from Phil Cirocco for repairs/upgrades (most notably, sync switches on VCOs 1/2). ARP 2600s are an amazing tool for making f**k synth noises, which unfortunately they are not often used for, judging by the current youtube videos. So I'm going to start off with a...

Nyle Steiner and Don Preston are the performers on cue #4 (aka Chef's head) - the cello-like part at the end of the cue was performed by Don Preston - recorded at Zoetrope or David Rubinson's Automatt studios. With Zappa Preston used both Moog and Arp instruments...could he have used the Arp2600 fo...

+1 on the P600. All sorts of possibilities there. Never thought I could have so much fun with a sequencer.

Re: 106 clone using the clone voice chips?
Personally I would not even entertain C++ in a real time (low CPU effort) system, I would use C (I use it in many real time systems), good organisation keeps the modular approach while retaining the openness. Using x86 based systems means the complier is open source, there are some free C compliers...

Re: Korg DW8000 are they that good ? (4.7/5 rated) ?
I haven't used an 8000, but I'm not very fond of the 6000. It was my first and only synth for years, but that was primarily out of cost concerns. It's capable of some OK sounds (I mainly use it for bell sounds, waveform 8 oh yeah), but it can't really make your every day "synthesizer noises". I woul...

Re: PRICES : the most heated yet absent debate
So when is someone going to create a database system that tracks all sold items on Ebay and can show a graph? If I knew how...I would. One of you programmers could make a lot of money with this Speaking as a programmer, this is actually very hard. The problem is being able to classify a synthesizer...

Frank Zappa--QuAUDIOPHILIAc
only 4 channels instead of 6, but quite amazing. There's a great minimoog solo on one track too.
