Thank you, it definitely sounds correct. Also used in "Round and Around" by Jaki Graham.Jazzyman17 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 9:44 pmThe closest one I found so far is preset named "Voices" (program 12) from Emulator II's factory library.

What synth is the choir sound on "One Wish" by Hiroshima (1985)?
The choir sound is most prominent around 2:47
I've heard the sound on other mid-80s tracks also. Would be great to know which synth its from. Emulator II, Fairlight?

Re: What DX7 bass patches used in these songs?
Wow, "Sarah" is a real 1986 time capsule, isn't it! As has already been said by elsongs, the bass is TX816/TX216 or possibly a DX7 patch done by somebody who could actually programme the synth at that time.

Re: Songs with Juno 106
The Cool Notes - Spend The Night (1985)
See my thread about the track: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewt ... 75#p566875
The consensus was the Juno-106 was used in this song.

They used various presets from the Yamaha DX7 in that song as well.

Re: What 80s songs can the DX7 Tubular Bells be heard on?
I know it's been six years since the last post in this thread, but I have just discovered another song with the tubular bells preset. It's a sample of an 80s song but I don't know which song the sample is from. Does anyone recognize this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEfoN5DKn3w I found it:...

Re: In whose synth studio would you like to be fly on the wa
I'd love to have seen Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis's Flyte Time Studios between 1984-89 and also David Frank's studio (David Frank of The System) around 1984-87.

Re: How to make a bass sound like this?
It isn't exactly the same as the sound in that video but it's very similar - Preset 16 - BASS.2 on cartridge 1A of the DX7 (the 1st model). That preset was used on "Nightshift" by The Commodores (1985) and "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin (1986) among others. A demo of the sound can be found here: ht...

A DX7 could easily achieve that sound.

What synths were used for original theme for Casualty (1986)
What synths were used to create the intro/outro of Casualty in 1986? The theme was used right up until 2001, by which time it certainly sounded very dated! It remains my favorite though as I love 80s synth music. I would hazard a guess at the DX7 being used for percussion sounds and maybe the bass l...

Thanks for the replies. So Prophet 5, Korg Polysix and Ensoniq Mirage are all possibilities then.

Which synths used in opening scene of Manhunter?
Does anybody know which synthesizers were used to create this really creepy piece which features in the opening scene of the film Manhunter from 1986? It's very effective in giving you chills! It starts building up around 0.25.

Re: Queen Radio Ga-Ga - Drum machine
The piano in the background when he sings "So don't become some background noise A backdrop for the girls and boys..." sounds a bit DX7-ish, it has a slightly metallic sound. The album was recorded between August 1983 and January 1984 according to Wikipedia and the DX7 was released in late '83. So i...
