Re: Best way to repair broken PCB tracks?
I have used low temp magnet wire to repair damaged traces. IMO it is relatively easy because you can tin a small bit on the end of the wire and attach it to a solder pad on one side of the break, trim to length, then repeat on the other side of the break. It takes a couple seconds to burn through th...

Re: Re-capped the power board on my OB-8, now frozen! Help
Definately likely that there is a dodgy cap in the mix. I changed out the styrene s/h caps on my P5 a while back due to corrosion from moisture (Anvil case foam + humidity + years of storage in Florida) and immediately after lost a voice. One of the brand new caps was bad. Thankfully, that's all it ...

Re: OB-Xa Keyboard issues
Definately strange. I would expect it would be something with that ribbon cable/connector changeout.
A partial or no connection from ribbon to connector or even pins being shorted? Maybe happening only under pressure when connected?
Hope you get it sorted out.

Re: Pro One pots
+1 on what DonT said. I had to replace all the pots in my Prophet 5, and I found some at digikey that were the same size, but I had to do ALOT of modding to get them to work. All the originals were frozen or broken due to long storage, neglect, and anvil case foam deterioration/moisture. WCS lists p...

Re: Knob caps for Sequential Circuits gear
I should also have read the replies better too......Sorry about that. I think these particular tops look great. My originals are so trashed after being subjected to the foam deterioration that the old Anvil cases are famous for. So, it's just the P5, 10, and T8 with these. Do you know of any other m...

Re: Knob caps for Sequential Circuits gear
I did find out that the bevel is slightly narrower on the samples I have. It was explained that during manufacture, this aspect can vary a lttle from batch to batch. The silver ones I show were a sample to compare to the originals. When I get the new ones in, I can bring the height down very easily,...

Re: Knobs for Sequential Circuits gear
Cool, These silver top ones are all I have at the moment, but I will have the black top/silver line ones shortly. I just wasn't sure if the caps are the same style for all the different models that sequential made.

Re: Knobs for Sequential Circuits gear
No, just the aluminum caps for the top of the knobs. Sorry, I should've worded my post better.

Knob caps for Sequential Circuits gear
Not sure if I put this in the right place, but.... Are there any differences between the knob caps on the P5, P10, P600, etc...? Curious because I just got hold of some knob caps that are virtually identical to the ones on the P5. Same style, diameter, just a wee bit taller-maybe .008. Was thinking ...

Prophet 5 cv filter jack-Solved
Just got the answer-Yes it is. I feel very stupid for missing it in the first place. I've finally gotten where I can resume work on my P5 rev. 3.3 again after many, many months. When I worked on her last, I changed out the 1/4" jacks as the originals were very crappy. I was just about to the point o...

Re: Prophet 5 Noise Circuit
Yeah, the rev.3 tech manual says 5837. But that pic is U427 in my machine. The other noise chip on board 3 (U375)is the same. I could not locate a datasheet for this one either. Definately strange.

Re: Prophet 5 Noise Circuit
You're welcome! It seems to be a neat mod to do. However, the noise chips in my P5 are not marked MM5837, instead 8119DB. I'm not quite sure what the deal is there. Possibly an upgraded chip or different manufacturer's # for an eqivalent part? Mine's a rev. 3.3 s/n 4992. http://i41.tinypic.com/29wmh...
