i wonder why all the german one-man-companies do that? I think because they all fasten the PCB to the front panel. This way the controls (potentiometers etc.) can be soldered directly to the upper side of the PCB, and MIDI ports go to the lower side of the PCB and thus appear inverted. Just my idea...
