Re: Moog model D reissue
The Voyager just seems messy and overcomplicated for what it's trying to achieve to me,) My Voyager OS is pretty simple—in fact, the only things it has in addition to the new Model D is a slightly more flexible modulation routing, FM and sync and the hi-pass filter. Stuff people would like on the n...

Re: Synthrestore ZV-10
I want innovation, not "yet another minimoog clone". Synthersizers used to be something new, progressive, innovative. Now they're just rehashes of 30-40 year old ideas. I guess an analog restorer/synth maker isn't the place to look for a new synth then. Not everyone wants the hassle of, or can affo...

Re: Synthrestore ZV-10
Goodness, a new $680 analog synth with 3 oscillators is too much?Bitexion wrote:Another overprized Minimoog "clone". Fantastic. Just what we need. *slow claps*
What do you want? Them to pay you to take it away? The moon on a stick?
Good-proper keys! Bad, external PSU.

Re: Versatile, warm analogue polysynths?
"Warmth" comes from distortion and variability. There's no doubt that chorus, especially analog chorus, can create some really pleasing tone. When you take a functionally rigid DCO output and put it through a lot of great analog chorus, the result is beautiful... but it's still not like the output ...

Re: Versatile, warm analogue polysynths?
You know, I love the JX3P as much as anyone. Probably more. I've owned three. But "warm?" "Warm?" Does the initialization "DCO" and its subsequent functionality mean anything to you? Nothing that is rigidly in tune can be "warm." That's just not how "warm" in regard to synths works. Yes, even if it...

Re: Versatile, warm analogue polysynths?
For warm, a JX3P or Akai AX73 through a Boss Chorus, a Behringer Dimension De clone or something like a http://wutierson.com/en/home/sound-proc ... -v3-detail would give you a very warm sound for little cash.

Re: Polysix modification kits. Any users here?
I have a Polysix on the way and I've been looking at the couple of mod kits available - the Polysex and the NoisySix. Any users here with any feedback? I'm not too sure about permanently modifying a synth. I kinda feel like a synth is only passing through my hands, I don't own them insofar as they ...

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.
I've tried the MS-20 Kit version in person and the knobs are a major improvement over the Mini version. All of them all feel solid and non-wobbly just like how the Mini's volume knob is. I had the mini and swapped it for the kit as I hated the keys. The kit feels secure, solid and the patchbay robu...

Problem with Kawai 100P
Hi all I just picked up one of these useful beauties - however I have a problem. Once on, it usually only emits a (50Hz?) hum from both low and high audio outputs. I can sometimes get it working by pushing a stereo jack in and out of the headphone socket. Once working, it remains so for the rest of ...

Re: Why we're we given synths sooner?
I absolutely love the fuzzed organ sound, whether it be Ratlidge's Lowery or Dave Stewart (Eg, Hatfield and the north) or Dave Sinclair's (Caravan) Hammond. Ratlidge's style, emulating the free playing of jazz saxophonists, was so distinct from Sinclair's lazy thick solos and Stewarts playful wah wa...

Re: Duran Duran Ordinary World - Answer from Nick Rhodes
PS I love 'Ordinary world'. Songs with beautiful choruses were really in fashion in the '80s. Except that it was the early nineties when 'Ordinary World' was released. Goodness, was it really? My grammar is fine but my memory for dates is shot to h**l  Having said that, no-one would think DD w...

Cumulus - push me to 'up the aunti' when thinking about how to use my hardware more creatively. Cheers! Kevin. I think this may possibly be illegal in most of the world and your uncle will most certainly object. :D Up the ante possibly? (pedant) Bennett PS I love 'Ordinary world'. Songs with beauti...
