I have both. em-1 is best choice. no question about it.

Vermona perfourmer experiments
Hello,
I've been doing some Vermona Perfourmer experiements. The first is (perhaps a bit boring) some snare drum sounds. Four voices of perfourmer triggering at once. Audio at:
Perfourmer examples
I'm going to be posting more later (more synthy type stuff). Hope someone enjoys this.

Re: Demo of "zipper noise"
And, I really like your blog mc202... especially the jx3p prince funk demo! hilariously squirmy (in all the best ways of course)! Thanks! I'm trying to stick with it and keep posting interesting things. Btw, the dx200 is a nice box for those wondering. The stepping thing is not noticable most of th...

Re: Demo of "zipper noise"
How did you manage to get that bad of zipper noise out of an AN200? It's on a DX200. I think the filter was more of an afterthought on it. My AN200 didn't have any stepping. This was turning the filter cutoff on the DX200. Edit to add: My AN1x has a nasty zipper noise when I tweak the filter with t...

Demo of "zipper noise"
I've put an example of "zipper noise" or "stepping" up at: http://mc202.com/synthesizers/zipper-noise-example/ A simple topic but I occasionally come across people with questions about it. This is mainly for the board archives in case anyone does a search for zipper noise. Feel free to add your comm...

Re: Novation Bass Station vs. Waldorf Pulse
I'd go for the pulse. Seemed to have a much deeper sound. I had a super bass station and it had something about it that didn't seem as high quality as the pulse. I have a demo of the SuperBassStation on my blog (linked below). I was also very frustrated with various power problems with the Novation ...

Re: Roland SH-2 vs Roland SH 101 vs SCI Pro-One
I'd consider the sh2 and sh101 maintenance free. Mine are wonderful. sh101 is very fun, good mods available and sequencer is a real part of the instrument.
sh2 sounds so beautiful. exactly what you'd expect.
pro-one - still wanting one despite many stories about cheap build quality.

Re: Nord Lead 2X or 3?
My thoughts: 3 does sound good - the 2 gets more acclaim I think because the 3's presets are not so great - or at least not very analogish. The 3's presets are much more FM, etc. However after programming my 3 can sound just as nice as the 2. 3 also is the the synth if you want trancey/hardcore/etc....
