From a recent Music Radar article... Getting into the details later, EVH told Guitar World: "I wrote Jump on a Sequential Circuits Prophet-10 in my bedroom while the studio was being built. "Every time I got the sound that I wanted on the right-hand split section of the keyboard, it would start smok...

Hi all - here's a new video for a song featuring some very old footage. In the video, loads of PolySix and Korg MS-10, while the actual recording features Prophet 6 on bass and lead, with some Juno 6 on the choruses.
Hope you enjoy!

Hi all - I've had a Behringer VC340 for a while and have generally quite enjoyed having both a vocoder and a proper string synth handy. I've never quite got the hang of the strings' release setting, but such is life! The vocoder I've used on a handful of recordings and I like having it around "just ...

The video features a gorgeous Prophet 5 rev3.3, and the song itself was recorded w P5, Prophet 6 and Juno 6 amongst...

Maybe this should be posted under the Help! section, but I thought it was sexier as a shootout! Uh, for as long as I've been working with synths (a "while"), I'm not that versed in CV connectivity etc. I'd like to get my Micromoog hooked up to something as well. I'm pretty certain the Kenton would d...

I posted a Prophet 6 vs P5 track a while back. This is another synth battle, this time using the P6 and a Juno 6. In this case, this final mix features both synths together. If anyone's curious beyond that, the original one-synth-versus-the-other versions are up on my SC page as well. Hope you enjoy...

Three synth bass tracks, cycling around. The first is a solid but soft Prophet 6, next is a soft but slightly resonant Prophet 5, then a plonkier, more resonant P6.

Hey all - I've taken an old song of mine and reworked it twice, once with a Prophet 6 and then with a (rev 3) Prophet 5. I did the P6 track here in Berlin, putting down some MIDI files as I went. The P5 lives in California, so I couldn't do an exact side-by-side match up, but I did try to approximat...

1) The synth that made you want to play music: Minimoog... and Polymoog, and anything else featured on Gary Numan's Cars. Crazy thing is I've ended up recording with the very first Mini that Gary Numan used at a studio in Cambridge. 2) Your first synth: Pro One 3) The synth that has surprised you m...

So, 12... and IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!!

Curious! Thanks for the replies. Is there a discernible difference in tone between the different types of oscs?

What does it mean when an osc is described as "triangle-core?" The original Doepfer Dark Energy contains such. The DE II has a "sawtooth core" osc.
Cheers!

Yeah - I've been much enjoying the Evolver. Using it in bits and pieces so far, dabbling. Sometimes just reaching for it as analog monosynth, other times tripping out on the freako sequencer, trying to get my head 'round! My attempts at using it as audio input have been cute, uh, at best, so far! I'...

Thanks for the Yamaha tip. She did end up ordering the Minilogue and has been cranking away with it since. She and I are both pretty stuck-in analogue types. I had a DX-7 wayyyy back, then a D-50 and neither of those really did it for me. Saying that, I just acquired a DSI Desktop Evolver and can ha...

Well, I've gone ahead and ordered an Evolver - thanks for the encouragement. It sounds like a unique creature. I'm looking forward to getting lost!
