Re: Poly Six V Poly 61
The only advantage that a Korg P61 has over the Poly six is it is a little more program able. The menus are no fun. Easyer to tweek the nobs on the Poly Six. Both synths do not have MIDI on them. The Poly Six is a fatter sounding analog partly because of the VCOs.

Re: Yamaha FB-01 vs other FM models
Yes Right On! :D Every model has something to offer. Some times cheaper or older synths have a thinner sound. They might have a crunchy cut through the mix type of sound. The old Ensoniq Mirage had a real low bit rate sound. But a lot of guys dig that retro sound. Some less expensive boxes sometimes...

Re: Prophet 5 vs Jupiter 6?
Keep the Jupiter-6 sell something other than your synths and buy the Prophet-5. both great synthesizers. And both are always better than just one.

Re: Yamaha FB-01 vs other FM models
Oh by the way, The Yamaha DX7,TX816, TX81Z, are all very durable and road worthy. It seem like almost everything Yamaha made during the eighties, was like a tank, and pretty heavy. The DX7II seems to be a better way to go as far as the front panel buttons are concerned. The original DX7 front panel ...

Re: Yamaha FB-01 vs other FM models
Thanks MrFrodo for catching on the six operators. You would think as long as I have been programing these things that I wouldn't slip like that. But it was late last night. The DX1 and the DX5 are also six operator FM synths, but they are rare and harder to find than the TX816, DX7, and TX802. I rem...

Re: Yamaha FB-01 vs other FM models
The FB-01 is a nice little box for the money. You will generally get what you pay for. The old school Yamaha boxes I choose to work with are the TX816,(Eight DX7 sound engines) TX216(two DX7 sound engines). I don't buy them unless I can get them for less than $50 a module(TF1 that is). The TX802 is ...

Re: Roland fantom or yamaha motif?
I have the rack mount version of both. They are both loaded with great sounds. I do like the Yamaha better. I think you get a little more bang for the buck.

Haas Effect
Messing with the Haas Effect: The whole idea behind delaying a sound less than 30 milliseconds is to create Psychoacoustics that most engineers don't usually get by normal panning. Many engineers, even seasoned guys, tend to pan everything in a stereo mix hard left and hard right. This just creates ...

Re: Do I buy the Juno60 with JSQ60 or the Jupiter6 with Euro
I have both of these synths, and they are both great. You can't go wrong with either. The Juno-6 through a Roland Jazz Chorus amp is what started my love affair with Roland. BUT, If you have the money? You buy the Jupiter-6 with Europa because it is harder to find. Get it while you can. You will alw...

Re: Matrix 1000 vs. DW-8000 vs. ...
OK guys, here goes my first post on VSE. I have Three Matrix-1000s and Two Korg EX-8000(rack mount ver. of DW 8000). I love both of these boxes. I use my Matrixes more than the EX-8000s. With an editor librarian the Matrix is more versatile as far its modulation routing is concerned. I really like t...
