TR-606 Scale & Function Switches Not Working Correctly
Hi all, I'm hoping to get some advice on my TR-606, which has been acting up recently. The 606 in question has been well taken care of generally and has no history of fluid spillage and such, but did suffer from some battery leakage and corrosion several years ago that was repaired by a local tech. ...

Re: Synthesizer Interface Discussion
Sorry for the late reply... It's been a bumpy last few weeks. So there is a guy that's posted here and elsewhere who is developing exactly this kind of system. For some people, it might be a good solution, but I'm skeptical for a number of reasons. We could go into this a bit, but for me, I'm not cu...

Re: Participate in our Synthesizer Interface Study
Thanks for these awesome responses. Sorry I'm late getting back... I had a bit of nasty food poisoning. DX-style FM is no doubt fairly parameter heavy, but in essence it's broken down into a meaningful hierachy - so overall parameters like algorithm type etc, then you have 6 operators which are iden...

Re: Participate in our Synthesizer Interface Study
I do think you're right when it comes to improvements in interfaces. Certainly the Waldorf Quantum looks like a leap forward for a wavetable interface, and the Moog One with its small screens distributed about the panel certainly also is an advance, among many other examples. So I think that in that...

Edit: The survey is now closed but please feel free to contribute to the discussion in this thread Hi all, My name is Zefan Sramek and I'm currently doing my master's degree in electrical engineering at the University of Tokyo. Re: Looking for Roland MRC-300 Floppy Disk for MC-300
For anyone else wondering about this, I found this seller on Ebay who will make disks for a variety of vintage Roland gear: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/133032039352
Solved my problem nicely.

Looking for Roland MRC-300 Floppy Disk for MC-300 [Solved]
Hello, As the title states, I'm looking for a Roland MRC-300 operating system disk for an MC-300 I picked up recently. I was wondering if there might be someone out there who could make a copy for me. I can send a disk and postage. Otherwise, if anyone has any tips on writing a disk myself, please s...

Re: TX802 won't sustain notes
Bumping this thread because I have a similar issue, but still can't solve it after trying the suggested fix. For some reason my TX802 acts like it has some sort of universal gate on the output. By that I mean that no matter what the envelope settings are for the operators, if you let go of all the k...

Looking for a free piano standalone for Mac
I've been trying to find a decent (or even semi-decent) piano application for Mac that I can trigger via USB midi, but have so far been unable to find anything that works. Is there such a thing? I wouldn't mind paying a small amount, but I can't afford much at the moment and I'm not sure how much I'...

JX-3P Problems
Hi, So my JX-3P started acting up a little while back. After playing it for a while the power would suddenly cut out, or it would start droning a few notes and the lights would go all wonky. Once, the patch memory got all scrambled. Sometimes when it would lock up and drone, turning the power off an...

Safest way to buy on Craiglist long-distance
So I found a cool musical item on Craigslist and the price is right. However, it's half way across the continent. I'm wondering, since I'm sure many of you have experience with this kind of thing, what the safest way to do the transaction would be to ensure that I don't end up with a doorstop, or wo...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
Very good price for a JX-3P with the programmer. Plus you get the nice Roland hard case. Only a few keys not working and this would probably be solved by cleaning the contacts (it worked for mine).

Re: analog poly synths with midi control
the implementation on the JX-3P is really not up to the task. Not sure about the 8P. Maybe an Xpander or Prophet VS? How does the pg-200 work? I assumed it was midi. Or is it some special protocol? I'm sure I've seen a clone of the pg-200 somewhere. The PG-200 works using a separate 11-pin (I think...
