Re: Alesis Ion - Dead "Voices"?
Hey, I just ran across this and am copying/pasting my own notes that may or may not be relevant to this. In my case, voices were just not working and I couldn't figure out and for a while I thought my unit was hosed! If a Part doesn’t sound, make sure to check “Output Balance” in each part’s setting...

Re: Casio CZ-1000/101 memory battery mod?
Interesting, thanks a lot for the response. If anyone has success/failure with the AA mod please let me know. Maybe people were just fooled into thinking it existed for a while, then it failed? All infos appreciated.

Re: Casio CZ-1000/101 memory battery mod?
How did this work out for you? And how did you end up hooking up the battery pack, just by taking over the D-battery leads? Thank you! I've recently installed this mod on my CZ-101 and it seemed to work initially however after perhaps 2 weeks the unit again lost its memory. Does the AC adapter need ...

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
Hahaha totally. It's quite expressive. Coupled to the kaoss pad, I'm like the grand wizard of crazy soundscapes. Also, I bought it for $900, which included a D-50 V-card, and I sold the card for 365. After I sold my $100 CS6x for 375, that makes it a grand total of $260 for the V-Synth... so not too...

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
Guys, I just wanted to say, this V-synth is incredible. I'm a little scared of how good it is actually, or at least how much time I can spend just grasping its capabilities and listening to the amazing sound it can produce. Wow. Thanks again for the recommendation- it's seriously perfect.

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
You know, I never really understood the raison d'etre of a monosynth, Most basslines are mono. Many leads are mono. I really wish i understood that twenty years ago. Yeah I get the reason for the mono sound, but it seems to me that you can impose monophony on pretty much any patch you want by eithe...

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
You know, I never really understood the raison d'etre of a monosynth, but if I were to get a module it'd probably be the monotribe because it's so cheap and looks fun. Also, I have plenty of vst monosynths that I can use to cut into a mix. As for vst control, I have the novation sl zero, which is aw...

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
Yeah I'm sold on the V-synth, and now I'm testing my patience trying to find one reasonably priced!! Almost pulled the trigger on one for 735 but was still in research mode. But even the old one is $700-800. Thing is, I can start justifying price: I paid $100 for the CS6x because some dude spilled a...

Re: Very Cheap Mini Keyboard
I really dig my CZ-101, it's more fun than you'd expect and sounds pretty decent.. I keep it plugged into an old radio/TV set on my kitchen table.

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
I figured someone would say that, and you're both right, the ION is amazing. Don't get me wrong, I love it and will never sell it, but I have just a few problems. First, it has no aftertouch and the keys feel kinda cheap, so I'm not going to use it as my primary controller. I guess aftertouch is not...

Re: Thoughts on possible synth purchase
Yeah, that definitely looks sexy. One of the things I should have mentioned though is that I like to have a solid controller too, with nice keys and ideally aftertouch... part of the reason I hang on to the CS6x and why I'm thinking about the Motif ES. So while I totally want the MS2000 now (maybe j...

Thoughts on possible synth purchase
Hi everyone, first post here. First, I'll tell you what I have: Yamaha CS6x (with PLG-150AN, the AN1x modeling card), Alesis ION, Ensoniq ESQ1, Yamaha V50, Casio CZ-1, and a bunch of good VSTi's. I also have a Novation SL (DAW control surface), a Korg PadKontrol (drum controller), and a Korg Kaoss P...
