Re: Yamaha breath controller jack as a CV input
Okay, I have put together a sample board layout which is very similar to what I built: https://i.postimg.cc/wTWDBpbV/CV-to-breath-layout.png (note that you view each pot from the back in that image) Also I forgot to mention the purpose of each pot: VR1: Offset - For a signal which sits between -9 - ...

Re: Yamaha breath controller jack as a CV input
It's officially working! I don't have a lot of time right now but I'll leave you with a schematic: https://i.postimg.cc/ncrMPjGG/CV-to-BC.png And a pre-made digikey cart with all the parts I used: https://www.digikey.ca/short/nzdhq8jr Some notes: I chose the particular box because it is very similar...

Re: Any Roland D110 users out there? Tips needed :)
I have to note, the PG-10 is a super worthwhile addition... also, I own a D-5 and three D-110s. Guess what, with the right MIDI setup you can use the D-110 as a voice expander for the low end D-series keyboards. Simply set the D-keyboard to "local mode off", then chain the output from the keyboard t...

Yamaha breath controller jack as a CV input
Hi everyone, it's been over a year since my last post. I'm back in the groove a little with some fun tidbits for you. I recently completely refurbished a Yamaha CS01 down to the keybed bones and managed to get and play with the accompanying BC1... and wow what a difference playing with the BC1 makes...

Re: Crumar Performer- ripe for all kinds of mods
I had to dig through an old hard drive image from a computer I'm not using anymore but I retrieved them all!
Hopefully the permalinks stick this time and stay "perma".

Re: Cheapest SuperNATURAL-style synthesizers
I bought a used Yamaha MX49 for $475 CAD. It's very impressive! I need to edit the stock sounds a little, but the bare bones are quite awesome, especially for the price. What I am missing most is the instrument emulation, like mono/poly depending on whether two notes are played simultaneously or leg...

Re: Cheapest SuperNATURAL-style synthesizers
Thank you for your response! I could be mistaken, but as I understand it both of those use what I deem to be rather poor PCM samples. If I'm not mistaken, the Juno and FA sounds are based on the XV soundset? Or more on the nose, would be equivalent to what I already hear from the PCM section of my I...

Re: Cheapest SuperNATURAL-style synthesizers
Looking at the Korg Kross 2. Anyone have any experience with the orchestral sounds from this synth? it seems to be a great way to keep a similar, familiar package size to the Korg X5D's I'm looking to replace, but with updated sounds and features. I'm struggling to find orchestral examples though.

Cheapest SuperNATURAL-style synthesizers
Hi forum! Bit of a change of pace for me around here. I am helping my old high school acquire the correct equipment they need for their musical theatre program. Basically it's a fairly large program, and the pit band uses a full set of band instruments except for string instruments. The string instr...

Yamaha PF-10/15. Untapped potential
Hello forum! I'm back! For now... lol I bought myself an old Yamaha PF-10 from my old highschool. Overpaid for it, but the money gets reinvested so I feel okay with it. Before you start wondering why I'm going to chat about an electronic piano on a synth forum (Gasp! Blasphemy!) I have what seems to...

Re: My first significant mod: KingKorg internal PSU
Hi everyone! I am going to be doing another internal PSU install in the next week, but since the old PSU is now a non-stock part I am going to have to custom design a new mount for the new PSU I have chosen. If anyone wants me to take any more detailed pictures, explain anything else in detail, or r...

Re: Crumar Performer- ripe for all kinds of mods
Mattew96, just wanted to say thanks for this great idea and all the detailed pics and instructions. I just finished bringing one of these back to life, and this mod is my next project, really excited. Amazing work -- huge thanks! That's fantastic, I'm so happy to hear my work will be going to use! ...

Classitronic website
Hi everyone, Not sure if this is the right board or if it should be in "off topic", but I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to http://classitronic.net . It was one of my favourite websites and a few months ago its domain expired and it seems to be no more, and none of the tracks that were s...

Re: Crumar Performer- ripe for all kinds of mods
Here's a picture of how I modified the Brass switch. The wire shorting the pins is actually the leg off of one of the capacitors I had just put into the board (On the left you can see where I previously had tried the sound doctorin style mod): https://i.postimg.cc/FH9Mv743/20170822-010012.jpg Note t...
